Inky
This has to be a joke, or a scam...http://www.ebay.com/itm/Atari-2600-PORNO-PONG-Loaner-Cartridge-EPROM-PROTOTYPE-of-Bachelor-Party-/162387603184?hash=item25cf0e2ef0:g:uFoAAOSw2xRYmjeB

Tempest
Well the game is just Bachelor Party by Mystique. The label actually looks legit (can't really tell though from those pictures), so my guess is either: 1. It's a really well done fake label 2. Someone at Atari got a hold of BP and decided to throw it in a Lab Loaner case with a funny name as a joke The auction mentions that whole Atari vs Mystique lawsuit thing being a possibility so I suppose someone might have threw this together as a joke for that. It would be interesting to know its providence. There's no way Atari was moonlighting doing games for Mystique, so you can forget that theory right now. You do realize the auction is run by Joe, right? He wouldn't fake a lab-loaner, he doesn't even have time to run atari2600.com anymore. No I didn't realize it was Joe. I'd really like to know the story behind this one.

moycon
Doesn't sound like the seller knows the whole story: Possible reasons for Mystique company prototype inside Atari Loaner cartridge An obvious question is why is a Mystique company game inside an Atari prototype cartridge. We can suggest two possible reasons. Perhaps Atari programmed this (and other) Mystique titles under contract to Mystique. This would date the prototype to 1982. Another possibility is this prototype is somehow related the Atari vs Mystique lawsuit which occurred during this time. Please write if you have other theories. The first theory is a no go. There's no way Atari was writing games for other companies (it's not like they had the time to do that anyway). I don't know anything about the lawsuit so I suppose that's a possibility. Anyone have more info on that?

Anyone have more info on that? I think the second reason makes a bit more sense, but then renaming it Porno Pong? That would prevent it from being any sort of evidence in a court case. Personally, I think that it could have been an in-house April Fool's joke from way back then.

+Wonder007
I own this one (not the one from the auction though). I bought it at the Southern California Retro show back in August. It was a great pick up.

Supergun
I would venture to guess that it's background story would be similar to the Rabbit Transit loaner cart that surfaced? I would assume that most Atari employees that worked around the "lab", had access to mountains of cartridge shells & entire rolls of loaner cartridge sticker sheets. +Wonder007
Well, I bought the game at the SoCal Retro show. I believe the gentleman had another copy of the game which may be the one that is currently for auction... I also bought other Atari 2600 protos from him. I own Atari lab protos which games are from other companies. From the top of my head, I have Demon Attack, Frogger and Demons to Diamonds on Atari lab loaners. I know I have more but cannot remember those right now..... Sorry. What I need to do is finish my inventory on Atari 2600 protos. I know I own over 1,000 protos. I will get to it one day and will share the inventory to the community for research purposes, etc.
