shep
I personally think, before you go making "companies" and planning games you need to do a lot of research on the 6800 which will more than likley be the CPU youll use, and the Jaguar itself, and just some common computing terms as well, you know, 6800 isn't the best language to start off with. Hyper_Eye
As a programmer I will say that the learning process is a long and boring one (a never ending one at that) and it get's boring real fast. I don't want to sound mean or anything but I just don't think that you have the right dedication. I believe you will get bored and quit. I hope you prove me wrong and I hope that somehow you will put out a good new game on the Jag. But... until I see something to verify your dedication I am simply going to disregard anything you say about developing a game.
Willard
Unfortunately, I know it will be long and boring, and I wont have anything to put up for show until im done reading that giant stack of books and buying the dev kit. I'll tell all the people on this jag forum when i quit, but i hope not to... hey, our group of wanna-be developers has 5 in it, at least one should pull through anyway

I'll tell all the people on this jag forum when i quit, but i hope not to... hey, our group of wanna-be developers has 5 in it, at least one should pull through anyway Suggestion: buy the devkit after you've learned to code using BJL or JUGS. If/when you decide to continue you can progress to the dev system; then you don't waste the cash if you're not going to use it, and one devkit setup could go to someone who will use it in the meantime. Learning 6800 assembler, motorola's 8bit processor from 1974, might be fun but is quite useless for the Jaguar. Start learning 68000 assembler instead.
