Full 3D model of the VCS case, but I made some improvements like a slot of an SD card to act like a cartridge and a few other things, yeah its still rough but its a great starting point. It is constructed more similarly to the original designers vision, though I modeled it with FDM printing in mind. While the stacking ribs is a terrible idea for mass market, it actually makes the body of the thing easy to print.

I don't even own a 3D printer yet, so I haven't done anything to accommodate the nuances of 3D printing. I've done lots of 3D printing. You want to avoid "overhangs". You can print an object in just about any orientation, so you can use that knowledge to help you avoid overhangs. What's an overhang? It's an area of a model where something "overhangs" whatever is immediately below it, and where the angle of overhang is greater than about 60°. Up to that angle, most printers can print OK without issues. Over that angle, and you start to get filament drooping down because it's unsupported. For unsupported areas, you can print "support". This is stuff that's (automatically) put in under overhanging areas that gives the filament something to sit upon. Support has drawbacks; firstly it lowers your print speed because you have to print the support too. But secondly, it doesn't leave the surface of the overhang "clean". You often see where the support touched it, and sometimes support is very difficult to remove. So, when I looked at your model, I rotated it (in my mind) to see if there was any orientation I could print it at (particularly the top part) where there were few overhangs > 60°, and where the amount of support required was minimal. And it didn't seem that that was the case. I cold be mistaken, of course, but often models that are 3D printable are specifically designed with these constraints in mind What I'd be doing is seeing how this could be broken down into smaller (printable) parts that could fit together and which would not require support to print them.

joeatari1
This was dinner tonight. Ground beef, refried beans, guac, sour cream, Mexican cheese blend, lettuce, Garden of Evil hot sauce, Cholula, enchilada sauce, more cheese. And it weighed about four 3.5 pounds. Yes I ate it all.
joeatari1
This sauce is about 28 years old. I couldn't eat it back then and I am afraid to eat it now that it is so old. I used about 6 drops in two gallons of chili back in 1998 for my 21st birthday and nobody could eat it. 2
