Blazing Lazers
I know Vectrex stuff has gotten stupidly high in price as of late, especially systems. But going by Ebay and the occasional forum sale, there seems to be a fair amount of variance in selling prices depending on what is included, etc. Everything from $200 shipped to hundreds more. So, I wanted to ask: what is a decent price to buy or sell a working Vectrex (system only) for here in the middle of 2017, either by forum prices or Ebay prices? Many thanks in advance for all insight!
Flojomojo
The answer, of course, is "whatever the market will bear." For $200 shipped I would want a multicart included, but that's just me ... I gave up my monster humming Vectrex years ago and make do with Vectrex Regeneration.
redrumh2o
I've been looking for a while. I'd say for a decent looking one with a controller would average around 350 after shipping Edited June 27, 2017 by redrumh2o
Vectrexer
Define the condition of your purchase........ Complete? Complete and working? Daily driver? Needs repair? (and you are willing to do the work) Also, Will you pound the pavement looking for uninformed garage / flea markets sellers? Are you cheap and / or willing to wait? All of those and more will set conditions on price limits you might consider a "decent price". You're asking an open ended question otherwise for which Flojomojo gave the standard good answer. Blazing Lazers
Hmm, thanks for the replies, all So, between 200 and 350 shipped for a working system and controller. About what I'd thought it would be. I have a spare system I might part with, or use as trade bait. This in for helps.
iesposta
The market now has doubled what it was just 6 years ago. Then, a working system with 1 nice controller was $175. Now it's $350 for a working system w/nice controller. (boxed controllers were $100 then, now loose controllers may go for $100.) There is no game region, but US/Canadian = 110V, Europe = 220V made by MB. (Milton Bradley). U.S. has made in Hong Kong (personal preference, to me these seem to hold up best) and made in Taiwan. Both 1982. Canada models say 1983. I only have 1 Canadian so I don't know if those were made in 2 different countries or not. I noticed a minor difference with a homebrew game that has sampled speech, Space Frenzy (also works with AtariVox 2). One Hong Kong machine will play the speech and another one will not, same with the Taiwan manufactured model, one does play the sample and another one doesn't. Hope this added info helps.

Glad I got my systems when I did (1999-2000) #1 System +12 games (4-5 boxed) - $125. #2 (from the same place) System + 12 games (4-5 boxed) - got some dup games in this one but also got a Polar Rescue w/overlay. LaserCat
My local store charges $220 with one controller and a one year warranty.
towmater
What if "comes with original carrying case"?
LaserCat
I never knew that the Vectrex had a carrying case! Looks rad and expensive. Never saw one at Classic Game Junkie but that does't mean Frank does not have one in his store basement.
