Bartsfam
I recently won a Colecovision press kit on EBay, and it had the CV prototype on the folder's cover. The date on it is 1982. I own other press kits, and have never seen this particular press kit before, and thought I would share some of the inserts. Unfortunately the cover shows a little wear, and someone initialed it, but otherwise it is in decent condition. It came with 15 inserts all in great shape. The flyers contain the usual first releases and vapor ware, but four games caught my eye. I never knew that initially Coleco had plans to release Vanguard, Phoenix, and Challenger from Centuri for the CV. There's also flyers showing these 3 games being released for Intellivision and the 2600. In all of the discussions about vaporware, I'm sure that it came up, I just don't remember it. And on one flyer containing strategy games they show a mock up of "Dimensional Puzzles." Who knows what that was going to turn out like. Anyway, if I am bringing up old news, sorry. But, here are some of the scans for those that have never seen them before. Edited July 21, 2017 by Bartsfam

phattyboombatty
This is excellent and not old news. Never knew about the Centuri deal that apparently fell through, but those cartridges look rad! Thanks for posting!
digress
First I've ever heard of these as being intended releases originally. And those proto type controllers look nice too. phoenix dimensional puzzels vanguard challenger what is this one do you figure?
Downland1983
First I've ever heard of these as being intended releases originally. And those proto type controllers look nice too. phoenix dimensional puzzels vanguard challenger what is this one do you figure? Based on the caption description "exclusive licenses in arcade, sports, gaming, fantasy, play & learn..." compared to the names that can be clearly made out, I'm inclined to think the hard to read cartridge must be a sports game. Maybe "Head to Head" Football or Baseball before those games were changed to "Super Action" and released with the Super Action Controllers? I'm envisioning "Head to Head" being stacked vertically in the red text, and then football or baseball to the right of that in yellow. Although that leaves some text in blue above that which I haven't accounted for. It's a total guess on my part, and it might not even match up with the lettering that is visible though. NIAD
The Centuri games that never came to be are widely known. Just check out my Collector's Liat.
Crapahute
I've noticed that the ref number of Challenger (2432) was then used for Mr Turtle which was a vaporware too. The ref number for Phoenix (2415) was then used by Space Fury. And the number for Chess Challenger (2438) was used by... Collectorvision's Chess Challenger

Bill Loguidice
I wonder if "Dimensional Puzzle" eventually became "Illusions" There's no chance of it being related. Illusions was made by Mattel's French office, Nice Ideas: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/259164-nice-ideas-the-complete-storyboard-revealed/
NIAD
Just for completeness sake, I have included the inner back folder and back folder scan. Also, I have included my scan of the front cover without the writing on it, but with a "Confidential" sticker... can cut and paste between the two to make a clean scan. As far as I know, mine was complete which means your's is complete. I think there was one other "Coleco Press Kit 1982 (1st Release)" that was incomplete.
mumbai
As far as I know, mine was complete which means your's is complete. To further this point, the one I have in my possession is as both of yours in terms of contents (sheet count and the like). I think there was one other "Coleco Press Kit 1982 (1st Release)" that was incomplete. I'm not certain what you're communicating here. Perhaps I'm being thick about parsing this sentence, though. Now that you have stated that you have a complete Press Kit as well, then there are 3 complete that I know of. Yeah, just a little thick. mumbai
Yeah, just a little thick. It's late. I thought perhaps you were possibly referring to the other dealer folder that Coleco issued in '82 if not what you just restated as your point. NIAD
Oh yeah, the other Press Kit/Dealer Folder from 1982. Awesome bit of history, but these 1982 offerings pale in comparison to what was made for 1983 and that one pales compared to the two that were made for 1984 along with the CES binder. I have another set of six flyers from this same kit from 1982. I got them in a mixed bag of CV goodies on EBay some years ago. Now that I have 6 duplicates, I may offer them up soon if anyone is interested in six flyers from this kit.
