pps
############################ RELEASE TIME ########################### Sorry for being a little late this time. You'll soon understand why This time I have not tested everything on the real machine, partly because of no available machine for partly because I didn't want to wait you to long... Here we go: NEW YEARS DISC 2018 =================== Hello to everyone who is reading here. The new year arrived, so it's time for the next NYD. When I first called for entries for a new years disc at Christmas eve back in 2006, I wanted to inspire the ATARI scene to sit down and do something with the ATARI 'inbetween the years', to have fun for their own when creating and for all of us, when watching the release. I had so much fun, that my 'cry for something' was heared and the NYD was born. Since then we've seen 11 NYD and this is the 12th edition. Some times it happened that the crowd asked, if theere will be another nyd, before I opened another 'calling thread'. For me this is absolute fantastic, as this is what I intended to reach - people love to end the old year creating something and even love tho see what's beeing created. You all - 'creators' and 'watchers' - have fun with the ATARI - my mission is completed NO PANIC! I'm not done with it... Just want to say THANKS to you all! Now we'd better come to the discs content... Rumour has it his subjects have built a new stronghold somewhere in the high cliffs. Hearing this, the King has began to get word out and amass an army of strongmen from the local towns - he set off some weeks ago but there has been no word. Shamus+ v1.0 by slx >>> Shamus+ - New Mazes for Shamus V 1.0 slx, 2017 Shamus+ is a patch of Shamus allowing to play the extra mazes from the C64 version. It includes a "Tournament" mode playing all mazes in succession and a pause function. A rare bug affecting advanced players only is rectified. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Instructions: Use [OPTION] to select the starting Maze. "Tournament" will play through all mazes in sequence (except the "Original C64" which is almost identical to the original Atari maze). When you die in tournament mode the next game will start at the beginning of the maze you died in. The maze selection will still read "Tournament". In order to start a tournament from scratch, use [OPTION] to rotate through all the mazes until you are in "Tournament" again. Use [SPACE] to pause and the fire button to end the pause. A documentation about the genesis of this patch is available at http://atariage.com/forums/topic/271026-shamus-new-mazes-for-shamus- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Shamus was originally written by William Mataga and published by Synapse Software in 1982. Copyright is assumed to be with Cathryn Mataga at the time of this patch. The C64 levels are believed to have been developed by Jack L. Thornton who is named on the C64 version title page. I have been unable to contact either of them and hope that they approve of this patch. PAL should work fine - only 320k animation by Animkomials (my 320XE is not installed yet) and the NTSC stuff had to be left off
+CharlieChaplin
If you are wondering about the "Tornado" disk with Tornado and Tornado.PB file on it: a) there is the complete DOS 2.5 on the disk (including Ramdisk.COM, Mem.SAV, Setup.COM, etc.) b) "Tornado" with a length of 243 sectors is the ML-file which can be binary loaded from DOS; PCS uses copy+append when creating this file, thus the length of 243 sectors - you may use DOS copy file option and e.g. D1:Tornado,D2:Tornado.COM (or XEX) to create the standard 242 sectors length of a PCS binary file (which can be loaded without PCS)... c) the "Tornado.PB" is the pinball file to be loaded from PCS only

I tried to include this file in mypicodos, but with normal filename, so this might be the reason it didn't work. But renaming it to AUOTRUN.SYS on the disc also didn't work, As I'd not enough time, I left it as delivered...
+therealbountybob
Wow! Great work everyone "His Dark Majesty: Quest II" also has an article in the latest Pro© Mag along with a detailed guide on how to use the PC based editor to create your own levels. Disk needs to be r/w as it saves progress. Also one for "Boulderdash: Turn Your Screens into a Game"

Heaven/TQA
Es tut mir leid, das zu hören. Vielleicht Lynx, Amiga oder Jaguar? Amiga 800'ish / Jaguar STe'ish with some cool bits... and of course the Lynx having software developed using both platforms _Doc__ Perhaps there were one or two things to finish up before the exit? Amiga - on the List ST - on the List Lynx - done C64 - not done much...

+CharlieChaplin
Think Get Up still has problems showing the High Score What are you meant to do in Blok Copy? Hmmm, my thought was that it is a puzzle game similar to the 4x4 puzzles out there and you have to get the tiles into the starting order again, e.g something like this: http://www.atarimania.com/game-atari-400-800-xl-xe-magic-square_3107.html But looking at the game I seem to be wrong. So I did a Google search and landed at rgcd.uk and they said the following: "Blok Copy plays similarly to a two-dimensional Rubik's cube (if you can imagine such a thing); instead of moving the blocks independently, you select a row/column via the joystick controlled cursor and rotate it either up, down, left or right. The player's objective is simple; the playfield contains seven numbered and distinctly different patterned tiles arranged into columns of five. At the start of each level the tiles are shuffled around, with the number of moves increasing as you progress through the game. The player must then reorganise the tiles to resemble their starting order against the clock to progress to the next stage until all ten levels have been successfully resynchronised."

Everything is released and on the discs - so you can test it now. If you find errors feel free to tell us where and we'll see if they can be resolved. Sikor asks for help with QPA too. TMR
What are you meant to do in Blok Copy? You have to shuffle the playfield back into order after it's shuffled; the first column should all be 1 tiles, the second 2 tiles and so on. Joystick alone moves the cursor around, holding fire and moving up or down will shift the selected column vertically and fire with left or right shifts a row horizontally. TMR
Thanks to TMR for giving me the opportunity asking me last minute to work on some Pokey stuff and get it released Are you implying that i'm hideously bad at organising things and liable to set projects going at the eleventh hour? Just a thought but you might want to add that nugget to the titles/scroll and/or put the get ready message on before the shuffle so the player can see the original board for a couple of seconds Completed three levels and still going... Get Up! 242 - this one will be a HSC bonus for sure Tornado Pinball 392,510 BDKK Managed to beat the first screen, 2nd one is lots of little bits to put together! TMR
Just a thought but you might want to add that nugget to the titles/scroll and/or put the get ready message on before the shuffle so the player can see the original board for a couple of seconds The "get ready" is shown at the point where the player is about to take control, that was very deliberate and having it appear before the playfield shuffle (so moves are being made and the joystick ignored) would only cause confusion.
