Admining this round will be not a frequent as past rounds however I will endeavor to update the round at least once every 3 to 4 days so please be patient....many thanks to all for participating. Skippy B. Coyote Posted December 2, 2017 Share Posted December 2, 2017 Holy cow! The game mode choices for round are utterly ridiculous, but incredibly fun! Playing everything with Plus Mode on definitely adds a great deal of randomness to the game that should shake things up for Pac veterans. I think the spousal unit summed it up pretty well when she saw me playing Ms. Pac-Attack and said "That looks like a recipe for an aneurism." I eventually adjusted but miss a joystick! (I couldn't get ProSystem emulator to recognize an analog stick from the controller, which I think would help) Interesting seeing the random effects of the power pellets and the fruits doubling as power pellets. Was a surprise not knowing what was coming! Except the one where all ghosts but one turn vulnerable! I hate Hangly Man! I need my lanes! The joystick hasn't been much of a problem for me, since I'm playing with a Sanwa JLF with an octagon gate which I think is pretty much the second best stick for maze games (the best being a stick with a 4-way diamond gate). What really gets me over and over is when our good friend Murphy shows up and the ghost that's right on my backside or right in front of me when I eat a power pellet doesn't change and I can't react fast enough to not crash head-on into it. I'd say probably 50% or so of my deaths are due to a ghost not changing when I eat a power pellet, and of the other 50% I think about 20% are due to control errors from the game moving too fast for my brain and hands to keep up with and the other 30% are just from a lack of familiarity with the non-traditional mazes and not knowing the best routes through them. I get trapped a lot in the new mazes, and whenever the wall-less Hangly Man maze shows up I just have to kiss any lives I have left goodbye because I can almost never make it through that one without losing at least 2 or 3 lives. Anyway, should be an interesting round. I had been practicing the original Atari 7800 version of Ms. Pac-Man a ton over the last few months since I figured it would probably show up at some point and I wanted to be able to hold my own if it did, but I definitely wasn't prepared for this diabolical Pac abomination. Works for anything I've encountered & pretty easy to use. for the Hangly Man board with no walls: keep at it, you'll get it down & then it's not so bad!
