I'm Dying - Stampede Will NOT Stop Flickering

Anyone running a current RetroPie image with Jzintv and have a STABLE Stampede?

I'm just wondering if it's possible at this point. I tried 4 different roms, one coming from the no-intro set.

Evert one has the cattle and skull flickering...like, ghost images flickering "out" of the main sprite to the left as they scroll.

I've played dozens of games across 6 other systems with not an issue, except for this.

Thanks

I can reproduce the problem with some older versions of jzintv. Try updating the jzintv executable with the latest version found here. Make sure the file has executable permissions. http://spatula-city.org/~im14u2c/intv/

Dude, thank you!!

I didn't have to give it executable permissions, but replacing the file in my RetroPie setup worked like a charm.

Do you know of any other fixes or upgrades this new version gives over the default package currently accessed from RetroPie? I was thinking it might allow for the Donkey Kong and Ms. Pac-Man roms to work, but while I get different flashes of color, those still are dead.

There use to be a bug in jzintv affecting ms pacman that was fixed some time ago. DK Arcade and Coleco Donkey Kong have never been a problem as far as I know. Make sure you have both the rom binary and the cfg files (Coleco Donkey Kong doesn't need a cfg). Jzintv now has a -b5 switch that adds more Intellivision border. It now lets you map functions to both sticks of a dual analog controller.

"more Intellivision border"? Not sure what you mean.

Hrmmm odd. I had "D1K.BIN", "D1K.CFG", "MS.BIN", and "MS.CFG" in the roms folder. There was a "D1K.ROM" and "MS.ROM" that I left out though, as I was under the impression that the emulator will use either a BIN+CFG or a ROM, but both aren't needed.
