lopezpb
I found a small problem with the AVG cart with SIO-mod, if you search some files by "/", it is not possible to assign ATR to drive (shift +1,2,3,4). When I select them manually without a search engine, everything works fine. I'm using firmware version 20. tmp
i think you can workaround that by pressing ctrl-enter (to jump to directory of the match) and set it from there
zeropolis79
Has anyone got a copy of the manual they could message me with please - the one linked to at the beginning of the post is off-line.. I'm having prolems loading most ATR and CAS files, even if I do turn it on pressing the OPTION button. Thanks!
lewiS
Do you have a SIO cable with your cart? https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:0R6a2u3pqEMJ:https://atari8bit.net/tutorials/de-re-avgcart/+&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=uk Edited February 1, 2021 by lewiS

lewiS
When you load ATRs, do you hear SIO transmission beeps?

lewiS
That might be an issue. It looks like memory failure. This could be causing before that files did not load. Do you have Sys Check cart? Do you have standard memory chips, or Lotharek's SRAM or similar?
zeropolis79
Never mind - machine is goign now and running a self test.. I did get beeps but nothing else, yet certain files did like two homebrew discs did.. But when unplugging the SIO cable from my XE with the AVGCart, one of the wires came out of the SIO plus (a red and white one but I have no idea where to plug it back into)

Shorting these cables tells AVG Cart that the SIO cable is present and it should use it to load ATR and CAS files. It might be that they have been not connected together, so AVG Cart loaded files through cartridge port. Which make lots of ATRs file do not load and CAS files cannot be loaded at all this way. zeropolis79
This is how the wires look..
lewiS
It looks like black wire needs pushing in. Otherwise it looks good to me.

Mclaneinc
Same place it is, just more in to the hole..
zeropolis79
Now it's telling me it needs something called OSXEX2 in the route directory - have I forgotten to put stuff in>
zeropolis79
decided to update the firmware - got the file from the main website and followed instructions but it's asking for the left cart button to be pressed. does this mean the left cart button on the AVG itself or a left cart button on hte 800 (I use an expanded 65XE)? lewiS
Left button on the cart. 25 minutes ago, Mclaneinc said: Same place it is, just more in to the hole.. Exactly

zeropolis79
Thanks... Due to the tempermental nature of my XE, going to give in until it's examined..

zeropolis79
It was doing it just by pressing ENTER.. didn't have any luck in the end.. (my cable doesn't like staynig in most of the time either... Never got CAS files goign either.
