Now there's a game I've not played in a long time! Welcome AgentUSA The thiird new player in a couple of rounds, let's hope some of the regulars return too EVERONE If the game's too difficult play on Beginner as you wish

 

Played some more Zorp 47,380 - Chamber 6 or 7 perhaps. Had another go on Dark Chambers on Standard but didn't get past "I" this time

I think it's a cool gfx game, but needs more playability... too slow.

I'm liking it, you do need an hour set aside, nice graphics, great music, I had it turned up for a while. I think Advanced is too hard for 1 player, would be great to play in 2 player mode. The weapons etc lying around are for when you resurrect the 2nd player, it wouldn't have taken much to program them to expire in 1 player mode

Out of food again on Standard but reached level M - 161,520

 

Zorp 60,460 the other skill levels Doctor and Surgeon start on levels 11 and 21 respectively. So it's medical which makes me wonder if we're up somewhere that we don't want to know about

So I saw I'm not ranked in the Standard bracket and thought why not have a quick go, just to scrape a few points. To my great surprise 1hr later I was still playing....might have something to do with my headache mixing quite well with the general dullness of the gameplay But, the fact is I really wanted to die, yet the game kept throwing supplies at me. Later on, around Q level it actually got quite interesting and now I regret wasting a lot of stuff and being generally careless because I might have finished it otherwise.

 

It's also partially fault of the irritating bomb activation system - I wasted 2 or 3 thanks to the double fire-tap when not needed and also wasted lots of energy because of having to hunt for "1" on the keyboard in some supertight timing situations. Y u not SPACE or RETURN, ancient DC devs!?

Yes the bomb thing is a real pain I failed to save any of them despite my best efforts and was out on "S" because of this, playing on Standard. Not sure what to do about it apart from when you get a bomb go looking for somewhere to use it straight away. I also had a lingering headache when I started but feel fine now! I like the game and have had a quick blast of the music before and after play too Seems to repeat the level design on R/S (onwards?) maybe down to RAM, though they might have some variations?

Glad I made it 10pm close for this round as I've had a good go and completed Standard! Didn't play on from A. Somehow I held onto more bombs this time, which was a good job as on Y you'll need 2 to bust through to the exit. I cowardly dived into the exit on W and possibly X too

Thanks, I seemed to play more agressively, targetting the spawners more and attacking the power up then diving into the dig crowds of things. The green guys can be lured into travelling horizontally across the wide expanses so you can fire at them as they approach you and move out of the way and repeat. I got a few of the bonuses too as managed more levels. Also am on a PAL Atari so it may be slower/easier depending on how it is programmed

 

I was searching to see if anything was known about the game and found it listed as an APX game on atariarchives.org, they are trying to contact the co-author Tom Konchan so I'll add that here too
