The gameplay is amazing and the POKEY really makes it sound like you've brought the arcade version home. No. The XM is required for (POKEY) sound when the aforementioned chip is not present in the cartridge. Under the arrangement, as stipulated in the OP, the buyer is providing a POKEY chip to be included in the cartridge. POKEY chip not included in the cartridge new Donkey Kong port = Donkey Kong XM.
