flame
hæ everyone, for the last couple of months I have been working on an unofficial demake of the Amiga classic Shadow of the Beast. Written entirely in 6502 Assembly it is a conversion intended to be as faithful to the original as possible. I hope you like it ! https://aeriform.itch.io/legacy-of-the-beast The current version has the completed forest starting area and I am now working on adding content for other areas. I have not had been able to test on physical hardware at this time so I am interested to know how well it runs. I was inspired to start this because of my love of the original, Atari and discovering the unfinished version for the Atari 8bit. Standard 4K, NTSC I'd like to thank those who gave me their time and patience on this forum when I had problems I didn't know how to solve. Greg2600
This game looks amazing! Gotta ask though, any intention of doing an 8K version?
alfredtdk
The game is great, however, I miss the jump of the character and at least some audio or soundtrack! I am aware that if the intention is to keep 4k, such elements can hardly be added! Edited June 20, 2020 by alfredtdk
flame
Hæ everyone ! It took a while but I finally have a version I am happy to call "done". I may tweak little things but everything I intended to implement is in and working. In this standard 4K ROM I managed to fit 5 areas with non-linear design. More than 15 enemy types and variants, key items, health potions, and importantly something resembling sound. This has been an absolute labour of love for me, and more than proud of what I have been able to do with no prior experience making Atari games. I hope you enjoy playing this. https://aeriform.itch.io/beast I'd like to thank everyone that has supported the development of this game, the kind words, and amazing tips on how to optimise and handle certain problems.
