I think so. I'm hitting close to 10,000 points now. If you put enough time in, and upgrade, your scores should improve.

I got my high score by hitting something that made the missiles go slower for the rest of the game.  I didn't realize it was so rare i haven't got one since.

 

I have got scores up in the 10-15k range, but nothing approaching 30k again. 

 

I kind of regret posting such a high score to start; i thought people would be crushing it left and right with the same power-up i used.  Didn't realize it was a fluke; should have started with like 1,500 to get more engagement.  Oh well lesson learned.
