If you have already picked up the Bruce Lee Cassette image, you may want to go back to that post and get the Disk image, Disk pic and Disk screen shot.  I added them to the original post.

Bruce Lee

Getting command line errors with all the cas files in Altirra, the wav's are fine

Just tested other known cas files and they load as expected, seems to be an encoding issue?

Edited by Mclaneinc

Edit: Asylum DOES work, no errors...I'd missed out on checking it by accident, but the others do fail.. Tried a redownload etc etc..

Also found a little 'oddity', if I drag a large zipped wav file on to Altirra from my opus screen I get a message saying its too large >128mb but if I drag the same file that is unzipped it is ok about it..

Obviously there's a reason for it, just I'd never seen it before..

CAS versions of "Voodoo Castle" and "The Count" do work fine on my PC with, errmmm, good old Win XP and Altirra 2.90. Did not test the other CAS files yet.

Well whatever has happened since 2.90 is perhaps more exact and isn't happy with these small set of cas files. I suspect its like the disks that would load on Atariwinplus but not Altirra because Altirra was far more accurate in drive emulation.

I'm sure it will all get sorted out..

2.90 and XP, have you been travelling back in time again :)

I have no idea what is going on for you.

My Altirra setup for testing them is fairly bland with no additional hardware setups.  They all tested fine with the exception of Avoid.  I could not get a CAS file made, but the wav works.

Altirra 3.90

Hardware type: 65XE/130XE

Video Standard: NTSC

CPU: 6502/6502C

Firmware OS: Atari XL/XE/XEGS OS ver.4 from TO_SEC

Basic: Atari Basic Rev C from a page on the internet (forget which)

Memory: 128k

I'm using beta 4.00 (latest beta)

I know there's been quite a few tape changes by Avery, perhaps there's breakage?

I'll include him in the conversation to see if he can tell us what is going on..

Dimension X - Autoload cassette.  Instructions for other versions say to disable basic, but this will not load with it disabled.  Leave basic enabled when autoloading.

The following cassette recording of Dimension X is an anomaly. The Cassette player I used, mixed stereo down to mono with both the left and the right side recorded into one track. The anomaly is that it still loads the game, go figure.

Dimension X Cassette.zip

This is the proper recording of Dimension X with the Audio and data separated.  There is also a version that reduces clipping of the music channel and an ever further version that offsets the music so it can finish before the data is loaded, also with reduced clipping.  The CAS version does not seem to carry the music channel.

The reason Dimension X doesn't work is you've got the music channel and the data channel mixed together in a wav file.

Both channels are mixed hard right.

What kind of cassette deck are you using to capture this?

General Electric mini compact.  Dimension X does work if I leave basic enabled with autoload.

Sunday Golf - Boot into BASIC, CLOAD and RUN.

This title has been updated as the preservation site states that it is consistent with a CSAVE. It might very well be. So I took another single pass recording that does turn into a good CAS.

All assets are now included in the zip.

Amazing that it does.

There's music to listen to while the game is loading in one channel.

I'd use a cassette deck that has proper stereo output, or check your connections to your recording device.

That should say... There's music to listen to in one channel (left) while the game is loading in the other channel (right).

I guess you can't edit posts after a few hours...?

Analogies - This title has been updated.  Previously it was recorded by individual lessons.  They are still included, but I have made a new recording in one pass so all lessons are on one recording. It made a good CAS also.

All assets are now in the zip.
