Ecernosoft
Atari should've been the king. If it wasn't for SMB and nintendo's harsh 3rd party developer scheme preventing those who made games on NES from making games on other consoles (I think!!!), Atari's 7800 would've been the popular pick. ? Crazy Climber
As stated it was HEAVILY advertised in comic books...especially the official KOOL AID MAN comic! The Intellivision game was too although I don't recall a mail order for that one. I got mine from a local grocery store (IGA but might have still been Applebaums at that time), it was in an end cap clearance bin for under $5 My Dad clipped every single Parker Bros manual corner, he never mailed them either...he still to this day has a large box of cut out (completely random) UPC's in the basement going back to the 70's lol. I asked him about it (why?) a few years back and he simply said "something for you to deal with when I'm dead" haha
