Thomas, think of a cylindrical "encryption key;" that's what's meant by the password reference (it gives access to the "question"). You don't need to filter names if you can decode the message.

I've never owned the game, so I'll take your word for it. The FAQs I saw referred to the last bosses as being part of a Sigma boss sequence, with Velgauder being the last entry in the walk-through that I read.

I was wondering if the ? was encrypted too. There are so many versions of Mega Man X and I had (and still have ) no idea about that game, so I didn't know which version you meant.
