This rom appears to occupy memory at $7100 which conflicts with ECS rom at $7000 bank 0.  Jzintv might be proactive in bankswitching out the ECS rom.  Does this rom file run with ECS hardware?

The game uses the standard 42K mapping, and ECS roms are mapped out.

My guess is Nostalgia is not mapping out the rom for some reason.

I'm using regular Nostalgia v5.  Have you checked the settings to see if ECS is on or off?

Unfortunately, the Nostalgia emulator doesn't read cfg files.

If it doesn’t read cfgs, I suppose it could be assuming the wrong mapping. Or it could be having some problem getting that information from the rom.

It does read the memory mapping in .rom files.  And like I said, the .rom file does work in the Nostalgia emulator if ECS emulation is turned off, so it is getting the correct memory mapping.

 

Nostalgia also supports ECS bankswitching.  So if the game program bankswitches the ECS rom at $7000 out to clear the conflict, that part not working in this emulator might be the issue.

The cfg file says "ecs = 1". Is that equivalent of mapping out the ECS? It would seem the translated mapping is like this:

There’s been some discussion about this ecs=1 parameter in the past.

Long story short, it will still show ecs=1 even when you map out the rom.

ECS=1 in the cfg file, tells compatible emulators to turn on ecs emulation.  That's separate from bankswitching out the rom at $7000.  And those variables might not be supported in .rom files anyway.

Not quite. Actually, issuing the command to map out the rom does trigger ECS=1 to show up.

This was one of my favorite games on the CV and Famicom, so I was stoked to play this on Intellivision (my favorite console!) Great work!
