Cousin Vinnie
Is there a site that reviews Jaguar Homebrew games? I'd love to read up on them, especially since Im trying to decide whether or not to start collecting for the system. SwanSong
Remember games are like movies, what one loves another hates. Want old school system do it old school, look at box, read box, could you like the game if good? Then buy it! 2
7800JAGFAN
Second Opinion Games and Master Cast TV on Youtube has some pretty good stuff. Second Opinion covers almost all games.
+LS650
The Video Game critic has a few Jag homebrew reviews on his site: https://videogamecritic.com/jaguar.htm?e=85044 Hit the release year column header to sort the newer games to the top. +madman
VGC is a good one, 9 times out of 10 I agree with him. I find the ratings in the Jaguar section of the AA store to be pretty accurate for the most part in terms of homebrew. Starting to collect for the Jag in 2023 is a bold move, but there is a good amount of excellent homebrew if that's what you are after.

profholt82
There's a lot of great Jag info on this site, and a number of game reviews as well. Worth bookmarking for the Jag enthusiast. http://www.atarijaguar.co.uk/p/main-page.html?m=

Except for him saying Jaguar wrong. Thanks for the suggestion.

People see the review and buy it. Very corrupt. Shameful. I concur. For me I have different expectations for a game depending on what I paid for it. I’d have higher expectations for a game I paid 50 to 100 dollars for than a game I got a free or maybe 5 dollar rom. I’d expect a reviewer to include that aspect in their review. Just my opinion
7800JAGFAN
Well, Second Opinion has just covered a LOT of games and would still give somebody new to the Jaguar a lot of content to check out. I will say that "Itscoolfromsaturn" I just checked out and he's got a lot of good stuff on there I never would have seen.
Pete5125
Second opinion tried to be the anti avgn, so he normally finds the good in every game, and the bad is mentioned as a slight or mild issue in a otherwise great game. If your looking for a reviewer that's going to slam a game that rarely will happen with him
LordKraken
Some positivity cannot hurt (especially when it comes to the Jaguar) and his approach is more interesting than bashing for the sake of it. it's not like he's a huge youtuber making promo video against money. And he's not really hiding issues or problems with the games he tests, he usually says something like "you can still have fun with this game despite reason X". So for the many people out there who appreciate imperfect games, that's totally ok But that's just my opinion Edited March 10, 2023 by LordKraken

So for the many people out there who appreciate imperfect games, that's totally ok But that's just my opinion Do you talk about Second Opinion? Well, he is not that positive. With a good game like Iron SOldier 2, he did a lackluster, superficial "review". On the other hand he made a whole lot of fuss about him liking Club Drive, obviously the best Jaguar game for him, despite it being bad. And that sums up what he really thinks about Jaguar: he regards it as a trash system, thus liking and recommending the most trashy games to his audience. I terms of capabilities of the hardware, he has no clue, just watch his rather negative review of "Hyper Force". Such a "cool" guy, ok.... The same with homebrews: He gives bad games a free pass, with blunders like claiming super buggy games were "bugfree". On the other hand, he made a lukewarm review of Rebooted, showing off a game glitch he found and generally giving out underhanded compliments. He is not a reviewer I would recommnend, not competent or sincere, but an overdose of cockiness for all the wrong reasons. A good source are always sincere Jaguar fans. The Jaguar reviews on "The Videogamecritic" are mostly spot on. Pete Dorr did an excellent video on Jaguar for starters. It is older, but I recommend watching it. Yeah, there are some thoughts we're i did not agreed with SOG, such as saying Iron Soldier 2 is not an official title, which is a big headscratcher. I do concur with him i'm regards to that game's difficulty (Mission 19 can go screw itself) but it expects You to have played the original Game, which is understandable. KidGameR186496
Speaking of Iron Soldier, it's too bad JagCorner never did another Game Review, 'cause their video about the Game might be the best one on YouTube.
Editorb
I had one attempt at IS2 mission 19 that I totally breezed through. Aside from that apparent zone time, I haven't even been able to beat it with unlimited weapons and unlimited energy cheats.

The thing with that Mission is the requirement to escort no less than three trucks into the exit. In actuality, one of them must reach the exit while protecting that truck and the other two from Satyr walkers, bombers and a building that deals MASSIVE (possibly one-shot) damage to your IS unit. I played it on another computer that did managed to run BigPEmu.
