Darkhog
Basically if I ever get into making a 7800 game and wanted it to be physical, I need one flashcart that's cheap, supports 7800 and has pokey emulation (I'd rather not have to scrape off Pokey from existing games as I don't want to destroy anything). +DrVenkman
Right now, the options are limited to Concerto + HOKEY (see links pinned to top in the main 7800 forum). In the coming weeks (months?), the 7800GD (GameDrive) should be available - that is an FPGA-based device that will offer POKEY, dual POKEY, COVOX, YM2151 and PCM audio player functionality. There’s a thread discussing it in the main 7800 forum too but not yet available to purchase. There are a few earlier flash carts you may run across mention of though not currently made/for sale: the CuttleCart2 from maybe 10+ years ago (?); the Mateos Multicart from about 6-7 years ago (?); and the DragonFly cart, which was available about 3 years ago until the pandemic chip shortage caused the creator to stop making them. All supported a physical POKEY - in the case of DragonFly, it also offered support for optional PokeyMax dual-POKEY chip, COVOX and YM2151 sound as well if the buyer opted to include those options. Hope this helps.
