PiStorm - Ultimate CPU/RAM/Graphics solution for STs! Join in!

Just a quick follow up here.

We've got the Pi3a+ working on my STacy (finally). Not been able to get the Pi4b working yet. I've placed an order for a PiSTorm with 374 latches and we're hoping that will make a difference. Dad664npc (cryptodad) really did all the work - I just tested things. :)

I've got a full message thread going over at Exxos's Atari Forums:

https://www.exxosforum.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=6707

I'm using an SC1224 monitor, plugged into the STacy's external monitor port for video output.

So, as you can see, it's progressing along. But... There's still an incredible amount of work to be done. Honestly, this project needs a lot more people involved. I can help with the testing but it needs people with experience with Raspberry Pi's and verilog. We're hoping more people will step up and join in. There's an awful lot of potential with the PiSTorm board for the ST line, it would be a shame to see it fail to progress because of a lack of interest or participation.

Here's just a few pictures showing my setup at the moment:

First screen is my Kubuntu Linux laptop, console open, ssh'ing into the PiSTorm/Pi3a+ combo and starting the PiSTorm emulator:

Here's the initial EmuTOS screen:

And finally here's the EmuTOS desktop:

Hello,

Is there info where and how I can buy a PiStorm ST ?

Thnx

You can buy a Raspberry Pi3a+ or Pi4b from any place (like Amazon).

The board itself I ordered from here:

https://amigakit.amiga.store/

For some reason though, I can't get the link to resolve right now.  :(

When you do get there, you'll want to pick the PiSTorm board for the Amiga A500.

That's the one that will work with ST's (not STe - if you have an STe, you'll need a

different setup).

You'll also want to order the PiSTorm board with the "374" latches.

Follow the directions/instructions from here, exactly:

https://github.com/gotaproblem/pistorm-atari

Please understand that this is very much a "WIP" (work in progress) and is nowhere

near complete or ready for a general release...

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask and I'll help you anyway I can.

@DarkLord have you got any games running with it yet?

I haven't tried any games but there's been a few posts and some video (I think) about it.

I believe someone was showing Elite running on the PiSTorm (but don't quote me on that).

FYI the AmigaKit server room had a flood so they're working to recover - it may take a bit for that URL to resolve properly.

I have a few PCBs for the PiStorm for STe if anyone is interested. I'm happy to snap some photos, just PM me, not looking to make money but instead make back what I spent at PCBWay :)
