BrewCrewFan77
Hello, Looking for some advice. I'm debating between getting an Atari Gamestation Pro or an 7800. Want to use it for casual gaming, 2 player games and most of all homebrews. I find both have positives. Gamestation Pro: HDMI support can add roms ease of use overall cheaper 7800: Original Hardware/Software definitely will play all 2600 and 7800 games the beauty of having original carts ability to get homebrews So, any suggestions? famicommander
I don't know what 7800 emulator the Gamestation is using but the 5200/8-bit games on the thing have horrible sound and the controllers produce noticeable lag. If the Gamestation is using ProSystem 1.3 for 7800 games like the 2600+ is then most homebrews won't work for crap on it and the emulation in general will suck. My advice is if you're looking for emulation, just download good emulators on your PC. Don't buy an expensive device that does a poor job of it when your PC will do it better for free. If you're going to spend a bunch of money you might as well buy the real deal and get a 7800. Also look into the Atari 50 compilation for consoles and PC. Not going to have expandability, the games it comes with are what you get, but it's a great and diverse collection. +madman
Get a 7800, get a 7800 GD cart and some Gen/MD to 7800 controller convertors.
