From what i read on Discord, the developer will be looking to add spinner support for the Classic Joystick on the Atari VCS 800 version of the game at some point down the line, but right now its not being worked on, there looking to fix, adjust and polish up other areas of the game first. I think the game will be amazing with spinner support. I know a lot of people are asking for a more zoomed in camera angle but i actually like the current camera setting, the tracks just need to be wider if anything in my opinion.

Does anyone else have trouble with the track builder?   Seems like whenever I try, I get stuck and can't get out of it without closing the whole game.

A big update is rumoured to be dropping very soon for Neo Sprint! 

 

Classic Joystick spinner controls fixed.

Choice of a zoomed in camera view or to see the whole track.

A lot of upgrades and bug fixes.

 

There's probably a lot more things going into this update but this is what i know of so far! Really looking forward to the update for the game.

The game has been on the Atari VCS 800 for a few months now, if your referring to the update however well that's still not live yet but it shouldn't be to much longer 🙂

I have totally not seen this in the store! And I just bought a bunch of games last month. That's crazy... I'll search for it tonight. I love these kinds of games!

I think its been moved from the featured section in the store so that's probably made it more difficult to find! Anyway enjoy, its a pretty fun game and I'm sure the big update will make it even better.

The new update for Neo Sprint is currently live v:1.38 From the main menu after launching the game you'll notice a new feature "collection" and in the options you now have camera where you can change it to either focus on the track or focus on car!

Here's my look at NeoSprint: 

 

Some thread thoughts:

 

- I found the Classic twist support to be not great, although it helped a lot when I set the sensitivity to be high. This is done from the screen where you select your race car and driver color. I couldn't figure out how to drift brake using the classic, anyone figure that out?

- Track builder is sweet, could end up being the best part of the game. 

- The February update made a HUGE different in both polish and generally improving gameplay. Game went from not fun to pretty fun imo. 

- I liked the zoomed in camera ok although I noticed it caused some poor game performance. The zoomed out was harder to play I thought, but I'm not great at this kind of steering wheel racer.

I'm enjoying the game more after the update.    I like the zoom, and the controls seem to work better.

It does seem to have more visual glitches though

I've been really impressed with Neo Sprint especially after the new update! I can definetaly see that the game is coming together nicely now and that the feedback by the community is also being taken on board to help improve the game. hopefully after a few more updates it'll have all the glitches and any other issue sorted out, but for now this is the most fun I've had with the game 🙂.

It's no faster or slower than the other Sprint top-down arcade game. If the game is actually successful enough the game has a really nice track maker, so could be cool.

This hit Steam today! No longer a VCS exclusive. I don't feel like buying it a second time, so I am not sure whether the VCS-created tracks are available in the Steam version, but if anyone does pick it up or get a free code on PC I'd love to know.

I don't really know if I'll pick NeoSprint up for a second time. I appreciate the effort that was put in to getting the game up to scratch though. I can however only really enjoy this game using the Classic Joystick with the spinner to steer the vehicles on the Atari VCS 800, i feel it adds more fun to the game for me personally even though it's still not dialled in perfectly. I might pick it up on Steam for my Lenovo Legion Go just out of curiosity to see what the performance is like on that device but ill hard pass on the Nintendo Switch version and such till there's a sale i think. If i decide to buy it on Steam later ill be  sure to post back regarding the tracks.

I uploaded two tracks MPG One and MPG Two on the VCS and was told overnight in the VCS Discord that they can be seen and downloaded on the Steam version of Neosprint, so it looks like cross-platform between the VCS and PC at least, which is excellent news. Might have to make some more tracks.
