Making the VCS Wireless joystick stronger?

I’ve seen various photos of the VCS Wireless joystick shaft breaking after long use. Has anyone modded theirs to reinforce it or have any suggestions for doing so?

I have around six or seven Atari Classic Joysticks in my collection now and have no idea how people are managing to break them? Mine are all perfect, heck the one from my backers edition i still use daily and its still fully functional and i would say that's of lower quality in feeling than the retail ones from mid 2021. I honestly don't think they can be made stronger, the only advice i could give is to remember its not a 2600 joystick, there's no need to brute force it lol just gentle movements as its modern and responsive. It should last you a long time if you look after it.
