I do know that, but the issue is Ikari is usually found sealed or graded, rarely loose and as far as i know, no kind of sticker on the actual box which seems weird, i'm not sure what it was like back then but i'm sure if it was worth putting the sticker on the cartridge you'd put something on the box, ah well i appreciate it still. :)

I figure if it ever lists in North America and doesnt say whether or not its an import or whatever and i can get it for a "good" price, i think i'll take that chance, less amybody sees like some german auction thats labellee NTSC, in that case lmk i need to take Ralph and Clark out of retirement.

Don't give up on the quest. One day it could just fall into your lap...

There seems to be a difference in the text layout on the PAL cartridge vs. NTSC with the PAL version having the CX number aligned with the C of 'Corporation'.

Whilst not all do, most NTSC boxes seem to have the 'NEW' yellow flash in the bottom right corner, but it looks like PAL never had this.

Well look at this, not true... This is the one I won on eBay yesterday, it's PAL.

These photos are from the auction, I can verify when I receive it.

Maybe different PAL regions then, or maybe just different print runs?  Mine doesn't have any evidence of a 'P' sticker having ever been on the back either.

I have tons of PAL carts that don't have any marking on them at all so I don't trust any carts from just looking at them now.

Take it from me, an Atari collector for 35 years, Atari made a mess of all different label variations and boxes. I even had brand new sealed NTSC boxes with a PAL-cartridge inside. The only way to make sure if a cartridge is PAL or NTSC is to test it. Besides the P-sticker or the P in the serial number, there is no pattern at all to recognize PAL or NTSC.

Yes. All my boxed 7800 NTSC games have the 'NEW' flash.

At the end of the life cycle of various Atari consoles and computers they boxed everything they had in packaging they had still in stock. That is why for example the 800XE computer had the main board of the 130XE, any label variant of cartridges were put in boxes which had the same name and so on. Sorry guys,

This game was brand new and sealed when I bought left over stock of Atari Benelux (Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg) in 1994.

i was not expecting them to be exactly the same... this is odd... i dont think my copy is PAL but i haven't played it outside of 2600+ so i'm not sure, i bought it from NA so... odd...

i feel extremely compelled to try to catalog any and all regional differences in packaging for 7800 for the younger fellas like me and just anybody in general wanting to buy their favorite games because this is oddly fascinating.

No, there was no Atari Advantage program in Europe. The sticker is the same as yours but they crossed out "Win prizes". The poster is also in the box. Like I stated earlier, in the "end-years" of Atari they sold everything they had in stock. Combining cartridges with the boxes they had. They did not look at the region. I know it is hard to believe 😉 You can never be 100% sure with Atari cartridges that don't have a P-sticker or P/Pal on the label.

My Ikari Warriors 7800 is definitely PAL. Plays noticeably slightly slower to the NTSC 7800 games that I own.

Not going to lie i never looked at my copy of Super Huey that much, but its extremely different to every other 7800 game with the sticker as far as i can tell, thats kinda why i was so confused, but now i'm purplexed beyond belief, why'd they change the sticker design to something more... Blunt? And less inviting and fun? (Dunno i am not a design expert)

I also know stickers and the boxes are not failsafe but i am wondering if there is a way to like, catalog every instance and change, like how in your case, "win prizes" was crossed off by manufacturer/sales. Perhaps i should poll/question the 7800 board? not sure... Because maybe for some games its extremely rare to have like a NEW badged PAL box or an Atari Advantage sticker in PAL, i mean i never seen an Atari Advantage sticker on ANY ikari boxes, maybe because it released around 1990? IDK i am kind of thinking like how discogs will list the most minor differences sometimes for seperate releases and pressings, maybe thats worth cataloging if that hasn't been tried already 🤔

Also i'm happy to hear there are people who have done that. If theres important links i should check let me know, i might still try it myself if i can find out more 1st hand accounts from the 80's and 90's from Atarians across the world, and how their games were. Maybe it'll add some zest into collecting 😉 or perhaps for some of us younger folks sake or inexperienced collectors, a break in trying to find our region's titles 😅

Alright thats another account of a PAL copy without a NEW badge, obviously this isnt a certainty but perhaps its more likely ones without them are PAL copies and NEW would be more likely to be NTSC or VERY LATE PAL Copies...

Also idk if this is emulation but, i tried the PAL version of Ikari for 2600 and, its WAY more natural feeling especially in the tank, like when the gas runs out of the tank i feel like i have enough time to exit the tank in time in PAL rather than the Gas Guzzling NTSC version, kinda odd...

Yes, it was an edit. Here are some more and you can probably find loads more with a google search 😉 Atarimania has not finished its 7800 database yet, but the 2600 database is impressive (www.atarimania.com)

You are new to the scene ;-) NTSC games run at 60hz and PAL games at 50hz. That's why PAL games run a bit slower and make them a bit easier.

What are the chances of Atari re-releasing Outlaw with extra 1 player v AI variations with this badass artwork!

The original is a classic, not much fun 1 player thou shooting at targets. Heck even has a picture of me on the cover! 😂

Well i mean i know that, but i feel like i was expecting a few changes to the game for NTSC, i mean it was reportedly programmed by USA's Dan Kitchen, ya know maybe alter the game to run more smoothly on 60Hz? i dunno :D
