ulao
Hi all, not here with full specs but I think if we get a few bright minds in involved here we can make this way cheaper. I found 2 new approaches. 1) Using the TL866. First thing I found pretty quickly was that the eeprom burners were pricey. So looking for alternatives I found this https://www.pcbway.com/project/shareproject/SMD_Adapter_for_TL866_Minipro_EPROM_Programmer_27C322_27C160_27C800_27C400_8c188447.html or https://www.tindie.com/products/easypcb/27c322-27c160-27c800-27c400-tl866-minipro-adapter/ This lets you use the cheaper 40 pin burner. This thread maybe helpful if there are issue. https://www.amigalove.com/viewtopic.php?t=763 2) using a arduino. I'd be shocked if no on thought about this, this was an idea that I was kicking around and just so happens someone did it. https://www.kernelcrash.com/blog/using-an-arduino-uno-to-program-eproms/2016/04/16/ He didn't make the schematic very clear but looks like its a simple job. I do have a few uno boards around but will need to get some eeproms. I wanted to add this, because I can not really tell what it is. Has a 8 pin interface for programming. maybe helpful maybe not https://fr.aliexpress.com/item/1005003292900160.html?src=google&aff_fcid=ba5d6dd30ecf4fddb6b574a8f5daaf84-1703607080331-07644-UneMJZVf&aff_fsk=UneMJZVf&aff_platform=aaf&sk=UneMJZVf&aff_trace_key=ba5d6dd30ecf4fddb6b574a8f5daaf84-1703607080331-07644-UneMJZVf&terminal_id=f9980fb3b1e14e9386f4744efc3a0339&afSmartRedirect=y&gatewayAdapt=glo2fra Edited December 26, 2023 by ulao
Zerosquare
Considering the price of a TL866 and the inconvenience of wiring up and using the Arduino-based programmer, it'd say the second option only makes sense if you're short on cash, have plenty of free time and need to program no more than a few EPROMs.
42bs
A quick googling revealed there are services which program EPROMs for you.

42bs
It was a German company. Googled for "programming service EPROM" https://elhof.de/html/programmierservice.html
