+jgkspsx
Hi all! Here is a wrap-up for the Lynx High Score Club in 2023. I really enjoyed the mix of games we played throughout the season. It was fun to spend time with games I never get around to playing otherwise and also to seriously dig into some new indie games like Dance, Bro that I might not have tried as hard to learn otherwise. Sadly, despite the 14 people who joined us this year, we had overall low participation. High score challenges are most fun when there is a lot of participation and people share tips, appreciations, and even complaints about the games. I'm going to give the Lynx High Score Club another shot starting one month from now, but I would really appreciate your feedback about this upcoming season. What can we do to make it better? How can we get people to stick with it? What games do you want to play? What games don't you want to play?
+jeremiahjt
I think the best way to boost participation would be to cancel the 2600 High Score Club. It seems to me that the 2600 HSC takes up a lot of the time for people who play. I know that is impossible though.
+jgkspsx
I love the 2600 high score club - it is by far the most active club I've seen. There isn't a lot of overlap between 2600 players and Lynx players, anyway, I think. If I weren't running two leagues I would love to rejoin that one. I think the only HSC I played for the most part in 2023 was the Colecovision one. Overall I like most of the Lynx games so I will try to participate next time. 1
Ninjabba
Thanks for putting all the effort into this, I really enjoyed participating when I had the time! No idea how to attract more players though, I think I saw you posting on FB but it probably made little difference. In terms of games, I enjoyed pretty much all of them, even Lexis to a certain extend! 1
MichaG
Since I revived my Lynx in 2023 (Game drive, new screen), I thoroughly enjoyed my first HSC season and look forward to being a part of it again in 2024. My favorite was Switchblade II, a game I had never played before. Games I would love to play: - Toki (with or without continues) - Ms Pac Man - Pac-Land - Independent games that are available for free or can be purchased in Europe or as a digital version
