Crystal Quest: 7800 - (in VCS Store)

Things to know:

- There is a 'level warp' somewhere on each major level that takes you to the next major level (i.e. 1-X, 2-X, 3-X, and 4-X ... It wouldn't make sense to put one on 5-X  )

- There are 1Ups scattered about on random levels

- There is a 'Secret Level' that can be... found...

It has been so long since I've done a playthrough. I wonder if I can remember how to get all of those.

 

It would be cool to get a sequel or spiritual successor at some point.

Not only should there be a Bentley Bear 3 of some kind, (I’d love to see another platformer or even a MetroidVania in the vein of Disney Illusion Island on Switch), but I think Atari should go as far as making him more of an official Mascot for the company (like Mario or Sonic).

He has been showing up more lately-  In the game Atarimania,  and also in the new Food Fight game that's in early access (Bentley manages the arcade)

He could be a good mascot but really needs a hit game that people widely like to stick.

I agree. I think a modern game would be the best place to try that. Something multi-platform (maybe like NeoSprint, it could start as a VCS Exclusive) and again, I know I’m a broken record on this, but a MetroidVania really would be the way to do it for me. Big, explorable world, good graphics, good controls, and a fun story. Would be a no-brainer. 👍🏼

I figured now was a great time to get to this one from my to-do list since it's become an official pack-in game with the 7800+ as a physical cart from Atari, and the cart is now available separately as a boxed 7800 game. The VCS is the only place to buy the game digitally! Bentley Bear's Crystal Quest (Crystal Quest 7800 on the VCS):
