Peripheral Posted February 18 Share Posted February 18 I'm not so much into playing for a high score these days, but just wanted to throw out this (very) old photo. It was taken with a 110(?) camera back in the 1980's, and scanned into a jpg in about 2021. Definitely showing its age, and may be hard to read. But I hit the high score of 114,000 with 3 seconds remaining. Back then I actually took the time to map out the whole game on graph paper, and think I still have that tucked away somewhere. Looks like it was done with 50.0 seconds left on Twin Galaxies (5 years ago).... I've never gotten a perfect score on this game... I always mess up somewhere... I don't even try for it anymore, just not in my wheelhouse.... wolfy62 Posted February 19 Share Posted February 19 (edited) I understand in Pitfall if you are underground for 1 screen it's the equivalent of 3 screens above ground, is that correct? But I went underground and hopped over 19 scorpions 🦂....19....to find a brick wall 🧱 at the end. So,I had to go back over 19 scorpions risking my life for absolutely nothing! Are there any places in the game where there is treasure underground? Or is it just to speed you up on your journey to be closer to treasure when you go above ground in certain places,which you better memorize where they are? I will keep playing until I can survive the entire 20 minutes just to check stuff out. Decent game, but bad development from that standpoint.... I mean throw us a bone and put some gold down there or something.... amirite???? How is it that nobody has broken this thing wide open and found numerous short-cuts to beat this game.
