CatPix
Not much else to add to the title https://www.louvre.fr/en/visit/visitor-amenities It's not exactly new but I had never heard of it until now. Apparently, they use a modified firmware to block connections and unused features, the cart port is blocked, they feature, as you can see, specific buttons and Nintendo-branded headphones. And yes, the 3D stereoscopic function is used : That is quite amazing. Apparently nobody was able to get one... but certainly some may eventually slip by as Nintendo retired the console. Quick edit : a home version is available for free for N3DS owners : https://www.nintendo.co.uk/Games/Nintendo-3DS-games/Nintendo-3DS-Guide-Louvre-822301.html Edited March 15 by CatPix

Actually, the 3DS was shown for the first time to the press and selected gamers at the Louvre (while the Switch was shown at the Grand Palais). I don't know if the partnership began in 2011, but it started quite soon.
Lost Monkey
Yeah, I was there last summer and kept seeing people walking around with 3DS's, I thought I was in crazy town. Then I figured it out. Duh. At one point my daughter got my attention, pointed at a guy and said, "Guy is in the Louvre rockin' his 3DS."

Also, that it was showcased here doesn't mean it could have any connection with the Louvre - does the Grand Palais use Switches for anything? Not that I'm aware of, indeed. But I think I remember it was showcased at the Louvre because there was something going on with Nintendo. The Grand Palais is used for many things, exhibitions and the fashion week for instance; I'm not sure it's the same for the Louvre, but I could be mistaken.
