All of the above, but action RPGs are (as on the Lynx) one of the most obvious absences on the Jag.

Voted Roguelike/lite because U can't get enough if them but in fact I'd really love to see a nice Dungeon Master like on the Jaguar.

 

And fun multiplayer games, whatever the genre.

Yeah about that (Dungeon Master). Since you mention so very often, I assume that it was the game of your youth... so how come you did'nt get to try to do your own in all this years @Fadest

Did one crappy game on the ST (never released) and 1 test on the Lynx that got lost during a long era of "no activity"
Still hope to be brave enough to start it again (on Lynx or Jaguar) one day but this is a lot of work.

Given that "Action RPG/Adventure like Zelda" and "Metroidvania" are both leading at the moment, and that they're basically the same genre seen from a different perspective, I think you've got a clear winner here. 🙂

Metroidvanias are mostly platformers, while Zelda inspired games are top down (except one NES entry)

And we can add platformers to "run and gun" too.

That's what I call "from a different perspective"; one is seen top-down, the other from the side, but at the end of the day, in both cases it's action/adventure mechanics where you can go (almost) everywhere but there's a more linear progression since you need to obtain items to access new zones.

From a developer/engine perspective they are a bit different, like Metroid/Castlevania and Zelda were.

 

Going by the votes, the winner game would be a metroidvania with platforming, run&gun and rogue lite gameplay mechanics.:-D
