chucklarge
http://www.largeprojections.com/avm/ Well, since i could never find any screenshots anywhere, i decided to capture my own video and create a page. This is something i put together quickly, so keep checking back as I add more. Be sure to watch the videos. Chuck
MrRetroGamer
Very interesting! Thriller video on the AVM, nice!
Clint Thompson
Nice page! I've never seen the AVM in action before. I would highly highly recommend that you make the videos right click or linked download instead of having 4 videos on the same page all downloading at once (I have DSL and it even hit me!) Plus you'll be reaching your bandwidth limit in no time like that! Overall a nice page! Thanks for sharing! Clint Thompson
Zaxxon
The AVM unit is featured somewhat prominently in the late 70's movie 'Over the Edge', Matt Dillons first film. Great movie.
Rob Mitchell
Very nice .. Thanks! Rob Mitchell, Atlanta, GA
Retro Rogue
The AVM unit is featured somewhat prominently in the late 70's movie 'Over the Edge', Matt Dillons first film. Great movie. That's the name I was trying to remember the other day! Thanks! I saw that movie on cable in the early 80's and still remember one of the kids getting stoned and lying on his bed with the AVM going on the TV. Was a cool movie at the time when the locked all the parents in the school.
Curt Vendel
Thats a cool site..... the Atari Video Music was certainly an interesting and different product for Atari, but it used a TV set and was interative and entertaining, so in essence it was what Atari was all about... Don't just watch TV, play it. :-) Curt

Godzilla
Great site! I've always wondered what the AVM looked like in action. Thanks for letting me know that I need one to put next to my jag cd and my nuon :-)
King Atari
Very cool site. I'm going to keep an eye out for an AVM, that's for sure.
sniperCCJVQ
cool video! It's nice to see what the AVM can do.
Trip_Cannon
Hey! Very nice! I never was able to see the video music in action until now!
SteveW
I just bought an Atari Video Music tonight at a thrift store, but it's power cord's been snipped off, so it's going to be a while before i'll be able to use it. From the look of those videos, I need to get this thing working soon!
Rob Mitchell
Yes .. those power cord wires are pretty fragile. Do you have the power block? Rob Mitchell, Atlanta, GA
SteveW
There's a power block? No, there's no power block. There's just a power cord sticking out about a foot from it's case. I guess fixing this thing will be a little more difficult than just getting a new power cord.

SteveW
Drop me a PM when you get the info. My brother and his electrician friend can rewire it for me, if I have the proper data.
Rob Mitchell
You are in luck... The power supply is AC which means no polarity issue! 16.6 v AC 100 mA It is the smallest AC adapter I have ever seen! So get a little AC adapter, solder the 2 wire ends together, a little shrinkwrap tubing makes it look professional .. and you're in business! Atariboy2600
For years I had only seen the Atari Video Music on still pics but thanks to your web page I now seen it in action thanks man now I want this unit more then ever!
sebastius
I wonder if the internals of that chip are known anywhere. It would be cool to remake it in a FPGA or something.
foxglove9
Oh wow, I've never seen that in action before and now I want one really bad..a shame they are so hard and expensive to get. Perhaps some day it will be emulated or copied into a modern software program.
SteveW
I'm still waiting for my brother to come over and rewire mine. He went through chemotherapy, and it totally shot his memory full of holes. I keep calling him and asking him when he's going to drop by and pick the Atari Video Music up and put a new power supply on it, but he doesn't show up. He just forgets. I really want to see my AVM in action (and to see if it actually works), but he just can't remember to pick the thing up.
Rob Mitchell
I'm still waiting for my brother to come over and rewire mine Have you found a power supply for it? All you have to do is connect the wires together and tape to keep them from touching and you are in business! Couldn't be easier! SteveW
Nope, haven't found a power supply. I was assuming that his electrician friend would help me out on that count.
yuppicide
Never heard of this before.. pretty cool. Too bad I can't see the videos.. I refuse to install Quicktime because I hate that little icon that pops up and I'm too lazy to install Quicktime Alternative.
