Susuwatari
I was catching up on a Yahoo Group mailing list (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/pamiga) and someone was offering to get rid of several Commodore and Amiga computers, books, etc for free. Here's the original post: Hallo Kids, I have 2 A2k's, 2 A500's, 1 or 2 A1k's and hundreds of programs and original games as well as a boatload of peripherals including a Panasonic CCTV camera with color wheel for color separations in DigiView, Action II Replay for the A2k and on and on and on. I live in southeastern Michigan about 3.5 miles north of the Ohio border and about 1.5 hours (or less depending on how fast a driver one is) west of Toledo, Ohio. Lord, I forgot the books and docs to accompany the programs. Magazines. Too much to list. Does anyone want this stuff or do I put it into the trash? It has to go and I would like to see it go to someone who will use it or sell it or whatever, but I need the space it it taking up. I have my A4T (which is still giving me fits) and I only use a couple of programs on it. There is way too much stuff for me to box and ship so someone will have to pick it up. The dumpster is emptied on the first Monday of each month. It is full today, but by the first Monday in January if no one wants this stuff, which is good, it will be full again but this time with Amiga products. My wife has given me my marching orders and storing Amiga stuff endlessly without getting any use out of it is not worth listening to what I have to listen to. Dick Whiting's son spoke for them I believe, but he never showed up or kept in touch so I assume that he or Dick don't want the stuff. Let me know if anyone is close enough to come and get it or knows someone close enough who would be interested. I really hate to scrap good and useable stuff but I value my peace of mind more. And a few posts later: he dug up even more! I also have a boatload of Commodores to go.C-64's, 128's, 128D's, 1541's, 1571's, 1581's, hundreds of programs and peripherals, assorted hardware and software, more cables than you can shake a stick at. And I am being given the remainder of an old Commodore store sometime in the relatively near future which consists of at least 90 C-64's and assorted monitors and programs and other hardware and software. Shoot, I even have an EPROM burner. I'd love to get them but I'm not exactly local and the post mentioned pickup only, no shipping. You guys got about 2 weeks or so to claim anything he has left. I know a lot of you regulars are in Michigan so this might be your chance to grab freebies and goodies. I do know those 1581's can easily sell for nearly a hundred a pop on eBay and 90 C64's could be an excuse for someone to finally tile the floor or even build sidewalks. Commodore store anyone? If you do go to pickup, be sure to save me that EPROM burner as a payment for passing this info. Please? MegaManFan
If anybody from Michigan does pick up that stuff, please save me a working 1581 with all cords and I'll make it worth your trouble.
Tempest
I'm already in the middle of doing the exact same thing for some Atari stuff. I'm not that far from this guy (maybe 40 min a away), but Commodore and Amiga really aren't my thing. Besides, I have absolutely no room for this stuff. I might be able to pick it up for a friend, but I'm not wild about shipping this stuff off either. Tempest

If someone ask you to pick up and send 90 C64's, you can bite that person's head off for such insane request.
Redcurrie
If anyone does go get some, I'd love something to play these C64 games on.....and as with MMF, I'd make it worth your time! Thanks, Laura
Mr.FoodMonster
Southeastern michigan? Why, thats where I live! ::fills pants:: Well, I'm going to email him, and ask where he lives. So, I will ask (or take, whatever) for the EPROM burner, a few C64, few 128, 1541, 1571, 1581 (all of them, one for MMF ) plus, games and whatever else looks cool, provided that I do this. I'll get back to you!
Inky
I'd love to snag a working Amiga comp if someone happens out that way..
Hydian
I'm with Inky. I'd love to get my hands on an Amiga 500 or 2000 with hookups.
Mr.FoodMonster
As much as I'd like to get you all this stuff, heres the scoop. No need to explain Hallo Ryan, I was going to trash the stuff but about 2 hours ago I received an email from another guy and he asked for the stuff. I have already promised it to him. Sorry. It is a huge amount of gear too. I have been trying to find it a home for over a year and had just decided to trash it because of some asshole in Flint but then this other fellow happened to email me and I have known him for a while and decided to let him have it. If I hear of anyone else with any gear to get rid of I will point them in your direction. Thank you kindly, Gustl

MegaManFan
Ah well. I hope the stuff went to a good home, or to a dealer who will clean them up and parcel them out to good homes eventually.

I hope MMF and not some E-Bay Koock who plan to sell thiese at sky-high prices The fact no one came forward yet seems to suggest some eBay profiteer. Thiose '81 drives can sell for around $100 and 90 C64's is a lot of computers. Anyone watching for "warehouse finds" auctions on eBay? I was looking forward to that EPROM burner. My guess is it's the Commodore 64/128 burner that fits the cart port. Last one on eBay is going for almost $100.
