jamura
Hi all, I just unearthed a box from my storage locker that, to my surprise, had my old 2600 in it! It's got a number of games, both controllers and the paddles. I rooted around in another box and I think I've even found the switch thing needed to play the games on the tv! (sorry I don't know the exact name for the thing.) My question is this: seeing as I don't want to keep the system & games to play or just look at, what are my best options for selling it all? (keep in mind that I'm a newbie when it comes to things Atari, but not in the world of collectibles/online auctions/trading/etc.) Is eBay a good option? Yahoo auctions? My local EB games store? Pawn shops? Classified ads? Online ads? You catch my drift. I'm looking for a little guidance here. Thanks!
sku_u
Put it up on Ebay as one lot. The more descriptive you are about what games you have, the more pictures you have and whether or not you tested everything to make sure it all still works will determine how much you make. EB games wouldn't take it and you'll only get about $20 for everything at a pawn shop if you're lucky. You also might want to check out what carts you have and how rare/common they are in the 2600 rarity guide of this site. Carts that carry a rarity of 5 or higher will drive up the price. Common carts like Combat and Pac-Man wouldn't sell for a penny.
