atarifan49
Anyone out there know if there are any Jaguar repair books available out there somewhere? - Sal If you're looking for something like Atari had for the 8bit and 16bit computer systems, Atari never developed any. About the only things that exist for repair equipment / info for the Jaguar are the following: -- Jaguar Technical Reference manual. This manual has a section in the back that discusses the pins on the Tom and Jerry chips, the type of signal they are (e.g. CMOS, TTL, open-collector, etc), and their current limitations. This is helpful info to know becuase this is something a schematic will typically not provide. -- schematics (which you can download the CDROM schematics from my www link below). Jaguar schematic can be downloaded from another web site, but is difficult to read due to its compressed size. -- diagnostic cartridge for Jaguar and diag cart / companion test CD for Jaguar CD unit -- diagnostic test board (does more tests than the basic diagnostic cart). Allows testing of controller, video, and DSP ports. This was used within Atari to refurbish returned Jaguar systems. Some in-house test procedures were written (also available on my www link below). You can purchase both the CD test cart and Jaguar diag cart from B&C (www.myatari.com) along with copies of the Jaguar system schematics. Schematics are expensive due to the cost of copying them. They are large scale E engineering schematics. Good luck with any repair that you attempt! Glenn
