rom hacking tools

are there any tools similar to hack-0-matic for atari 7800 roms ?. (Ie. being able to modify the graphics in the rom).

 

i have googled for a while and have not found any, thought maybe some one might know of one.

My BitHacker is similar to hack-o-matic but has a few more options.

There's no reason you can't use either of the Hack-o-Matics (mine, or the good one ) to hack 7800 graphics. I've used it on MAME graphics ROM files on occasion. Anything where the graphics are stored in a planar fashion should be fair game.... you just have to edit them in an 8-bit-wide strip.

thanks for the info guys to be fair i will use all of them to see which one i like best, it will more than likely be a tough call all are probably pretty damn good .

 

but on a side note i did not know that mame,atari 2600 and 7800's all used the same storage methods for graphics that is cool !

Not all MAME games (probably not even all 7800 games)... just the ones that represent graphics in a planar sense. I don't know how to explain it in a less obtuse manner, but it should make sense to former amiga users
