SS
Sure about that? [/url] Absolutely! I do have a 7800' date=' but don't have a CC2. I'd love to see one of those in action.[/quote'] Cool. Mine will be in tow!
+Allan
I'm most likely going to bring along my 2600 collection too. Mostly just to finally be able to show 'em off to an appreciative audience. I know that I've got a thing or two that sku DOESN'T own though. Damn, you are coming too. Why does it have to be so far away? * looks at airline tickets * There's still time. We'll be discussing lots of cool stuff. Plus you'll miss the Castle Crisis competition. It's going to be great! Bloodcat
Im on the OTHER end of the state, work weekends at our lovely casinos, and this is a holiday peak period (even though I have class monday at school.. yay cold and no sleep!), which means I couldn't go even if I wanted to. Why is there no love for southeastern CT I ask you? We are where the tourists ignore all our traffic rules and next to Rhode Island (speaking of people who ignore motor vehicle laws...) yet anything geeky ignores us completely. Sigh. sku_u
Has everyone coming received my address and directions? If not, PM me. There will be a surprise debut of at least 1 game on Saturday, BTW.
maibock
sounds like a blast! I've been itching for some competitive classic gaming. My wife's due date is on the 9th, so I'll have my hands full.. but good luck - hope everyone has a good time.
SS
There will be a surprise debut of at least 1 game on Saturday, BTW. Thanks. Thanks a lot. Now the rest of the week will be like a Heinz Ketchup commercial! I'm bringing along something too that will most likely be knocking all your socks off! Chickybaby
I'm bringing home made chocolate chip peanut butter cup cookies - if they make it past my husband. Maybe chocolate fudge chunk brownies if I feel inspired. So the question is - brownies with or without caramel swirls? Any other sweets/goodies suggestions? (Remember it's at least a 3-4 hr drive for us.) I make a great rum cake but wasn't sure if this was an alcohol permitting celebration. I'm bringing along something too that will most likely be knocking all your socks off! What if I don't wear socks? You tease, you.
popeal
you know how bad this bothers me that an event like this FINALLY happens in ct, and i can't even make it?!?!?!? grrrrrr! even more so that i'm just a town away (trumbull).... damn! i hope all goes well with it, and if you do plan on making a site or anything like that for this event in the future, please, send a banner to me and i'll put it on my site if you'd like. anything to help out gamers in ct, and hopefully, if it happens next year, i'm there! sku_u
I'm bringing home made chocolate chip peanut butter cup cookies - if they make it past my husband. (Remember it's at least a 3-4 hr drive for us.) I make a great rum cake but wasn't sure if this was an alcohol permitting celebration. Mmmmmm...sounds yummy. I'm not planning on having any alcohol given that so many people are coming from far off lands. I vote for brownies with caramel swirls. sku_u
I'm bringing along something too that will most likely be knocking all your socks off! I hope it's not the 28 copies of Air Raid you've been stockpiling. I have about a dozen or so of those myself and was hoping to sell them off at 3 grand a piece. geosteve
sorry for the delay in replying to this As for getting there tomorrow, I'm afraid I can't make it as good as it sounds though No car until late in the afternoon, then about 1hr or so driving just doesn't leave enough time. Maybe next time
killersquirel
I would say that this was a success! I would like to thank Sku-u and his wife for hosting a great event. For all those that have missed it, I would like to say that you have missed it -mike
Chickybaby
What a great group of people all around!!! Thank you so much to everyone for their knowledge and hospitality! We had a great time(dispite being so sleepy). What an absolutely beautiful home, and friggin impressive game collection! And lots of red hot take home goodies for us!!! SS has a heck of a collection as well. Definitley learned a lot of new stuff and saw so many new games and systems we would love to add to our meager collection. Sku_u's wife is a lovely talented hostess, an amazing artist, someone who could excell in anything she puts her mind to, and one lady who could more then hold her own in the gaming world. In fact, she trounced me quite soundly... I will be back for a rematch ... I'll get you next time Gadget, next time... (or at least maybe within just a few thousand points for starters)
MrRetroGamer
I am glad I was able to be there, and I would also like to thank sku_u and Mrs sku_u for opening up their home to us for a night of classic gaming! It was good to meet some fellow AAers and match the name with the face. A special thanks to Mrs sku_u for the cool commemorative logo magnet button she designed and also those home-made halloween cupcakes that looked professionally decorated! I'd also like to say that the home made chocolate chip peanut butter cup cookies that Ckickybaby made were REALLY good too!
sku_u
Thanks for the kudos, all, me and Mrs. Sku had a great time. It was great finally being abe to meet some of the members of the AA community in person. We'll definitely have another one of these events down the road. Here are some pictures for everyone's viewing pleasure. I wish I'd taken more, but I was too busy having fun:
SS
Good times! I had a blast and it was totally worth the 6(ish) hour PA/Connecticut round trip. Mr. & Mrs. sku were great and gracious hosts! It's always nice to be able to catch up a bit with Chickybaby and Z28 and it was cool to have the chance to meet sku, Allan, MrRetroGamer, and killer squirrel. I was quite covetous of sku's collection as well! Some really sweet stuff in there. Thanks for a fun day. I'll be sure to make the drive again the next time around. z28in82
Well other than missing my exit on the way home the day went wonderfully and well worht the road trip. Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Sku-u for entertaining us all in your lovely home. It was a blast meeting some fellow AA member as well, even if it means seeing a local one like SS(j/k) We were properly introduced to the work of multi/cuddle carts over the weekend and that wish list has grown ever so much. BTW thanks Sku for the "suprise" photos I woulda at least liked to have not looked like I just got done slapping my own face
thirdbird
man, I'm bummed I missed this little get-together. My commute would have been quite a trek, though...not having a car and all. Glad you all had fun and I look forward to another local event that I can actually get to!
z28in82
Third, next time let us know and maybe we could swing by and grab ya on our way. it's not like it's out of the way or anything
+Allan
Hey Everybody, Wow, what a fun night. It's not to often that I get to play my 5200 with others. It was really nice to meet you all. For everybody else, you all missed out on a fun night. In spite of being on four hours sleep I had a blast. It was great playing Castle Crisis with people. We must do this again soon. Thanks Sku_u and Mrs. Sku_u for everything. Lots of great food. I'm addicted now to hot cider. Hopefully you all can make it to Philly so we can all meet again. Now my list of AA people I've meet in person has gone over twenty. And yes that's me on the floor playing some game on the 5200. Hangly Man is great on the 5200. Nice job, PacManPlus! In spite of some of the bad Atari news lately, there's defintely some great things to look forward too for the Atari systems. It was to bad that a number of you couldn't make it at the last minute. Hopefully you can make it next time. I'm already thinking of things for the next meet so you better not miss it. I have to admit though that having so few people allowed us to get to talk to everybody alot. It was nice, although I wish there was more time and I wasn't so tired. I couldn't beleive what time it was when I got into the car. 2:30!!!! PS. Anybody know what my new avatar is? Allan

If Z28 and Anna couldn't have picked you up, I surely could have swung by. Hell, I went straight up to North Jersey via 287! It would have been just as easy to hit your neck of the woods and taken Rt. 1 instead.
