Brad2600
Add me to this club! I highly enjoy this game and I've started to really get the hang of it. It took a couple of tries to get the score below and I played on the default settings using my 800XL hooked to a C64 monitor. 24.

Goochman
Folks, I cant see anyone getting a good scoreon the original release due to its limitations - I will accept scores from either version but you are better off with the 2nd release vs the first. Brad2600
I do have Atari800WinPlus if you can point me to the ROM. Otherwise, all I have is the first version.
Goochman
Ive posted both .exe's to use with an emu Youve been warned on R1
Shawn Jefferson
Well, that exe won't run on my real XL. I did some minor surgery on it and now it does, as long as I run it with the Translator disk. It was doing some PORTB writes, I NOPed them. It must still be doing some illegal jumps though, since it still won't work without the translator. BTW: I couldn't get it to work with the MaxFlash "translator" cartridge, I wonder if it is doing some writes to the cartridge space too? There's a section that does something like this: LDX #0 STA D000,X STA D400,X STA D200,X STA D300,X <-portB INX BNE backupthere digdug.zip
Shawn Jefferson
Oh, and now to actually play it!

That will make it easier for me on my 4 day or 6 day in a row work weeks. I usually have enough time, but sometimes family matters interfere. Oddly enough it ends up screwing with the PortB like you said.
Shawn Jefferson
47290! So close. This game gets pretty hard near the end, with all those "ghosts" flying at you.

bjk7382
Here is my score for now. And I don't see 100k as being too far out of my reach It is all how you handle the double enemies, and how you make your tunnels. 52,

Shawn Jefferson
Any hints? I'm finding 50,000 hard to achieve most games!
Goochman
Its all about the bonus - dont worry about dropping rocks on the bad guys cause if you wait too long they will bury you. I usually go after the single enemies and pump them up on the way to a rock - wait for the early movers to come over and drop - find another rock to drop (enemy or not) and grab the bonus - then 'pump dem up' to finish

+davidcalgary29
I recall getting a score of over 2,200,000 on one occasion, but just forgot to get a polaroid of it at the time (that particular game took over 5 hours to play). Is it just me, or does the difficulty ramping cease at level 24?
Goochman
It ramps - but we need a game played in the last week or so
