+davidcalgary29
I'll vote for any form of advertising, period -- which isn't something that we saw alot of during the Tramiel era. I recall seeing one TV ad for the Lynx during its commercial production, and just a few more than that for the Jag. Let's hope that this unit gets a bit more attention than that. Shawn
What about having a 35 year old over weight man with small spandex clothing stitting on a couch playing Beat'em & Eat'em and his ATARI system fries and he goes to Wal-Mart to buy an XBOX and grabs a FB2 to his utter joy? Room 34
A new version of "The Fun Is Back" rap... The fun is back! It's plain to see! Flashback 2.0 from A-tar-ee! It's the retro system with classics galore! And brand new games! Could you ask for more! A real hip joystick controls the screen! Arcade Pong is hot, and Millipede is mean! And one more thing it had a real cool price! Under thirty bucks! (Thirty bucks?) Well isn't that nice! The fun IS back, it's plain to see! Flashback 2.0 from A-tar-ee! 898555[/snapback] The scariest thing about this is that it makes me realize that Atari was already capitalizing on the retro appeal of the 2600 in 1986! mos6507
How many ads have you seen on TV for any of the game-in-a-stick products? You don't need ads. They are impuse-buys. In other words, you don't know you want it until you see it.
atwwong
I've seen the 15 second JAKKS ad for the Pac-Man TV Games. (Or was it Ms. Pac-Man? The ad was really short!)
Zwackery
I think the current incarnation of Atari could spring for some banner ads on the internet (although stay away from pop-ups, please) as a lot of computer users now probably played with Atari and other video games back in the day. Also, some mini-commercials before the shorts at Atom Films and iFilm might be interesting. I'm not sure about the feasibility of an actual tv commercial, although given the success of selling out over QVC (or HSN?) certainly illustrates that there is a buying demographic, albeit perhaps a limited one. Some one-shot magazine ads in publications aimed at gamers might work, but perhaps getting reviews in these mags would serve the same purpose. brendano
Make it like the old 2600 Jr. commercial. "Under 30 bux? 30 bux? Well isn't that nice!" Yeah they should rework that old commercial jingle
gamer1682
They should re-create a few of the old atari commercials pitfall, missle command ,ect. Nothing with an ad with bullet train speed (ex:THAT CRAPPY DBZ GAME) everthing nice, slow and relaxing with the "have you played your atari today?" jingle. that would pwn so hard
