Christophero Sly
Also, do you have the following scans for me: NTSC Krull 1986 (controller info present) Had this one in my collection. Here's a better scan than the one I gave you previously.

Christophero Sly
Rom, These are the labels I'm still not sure about. 87 Millipede--Does this exist as PAL? Should I add this to my list? http://www.atarimania.com/zoom_frame.php?T...amp;NUM_IMAGE=0 88 PAL Ms. Pac-Man (No controller, CX Yes). Please let me know as soon as you confirm this one. http://www.atarimania.com/zoom_frame.php?T...amp;NUM_IMAGE=0 And, PAL Mario Bros. without CX and controller info. As I said before, the only reference I have for this is the PAL database. Do you think I should remove it from the list?

Rom Hunter
Everything added and updated, except for Mario Bros. Many thanks, guys! I will post Staberinde my final Gray Label format question list tomorrow. Sly, That 1987 Millipede is PAL too. frogger2 confirmed this with a scan (P sticker on back). Christophero Sly
I have posted an update to the gray label list. Almost every entry now has a link to a scan on Atarimania. This was the most complicated and confusing update yet, so a few mistakes may have crept in. Please let me know if you spot any. Also, if you have any suggestions for improving the list, please let me know. I'm still working to update the black and red lists in similar fashion. Thank you to everyone who helped out with this update. Your contributions are very much appreciated. Special thanks go out to Rom Hunter for his invaluable assistance. staberinde
Well, I guess most of you guys only collect NTSC, thus having the list organized in an NTSC a PAL part makes sense. But I personally don't really care too much about the label variation being PAL or NTSC, but would prefer to have the list organised by Game and Variation, and then have a specific column (perhaps as a new second column) for the format (like: NTSC, PAL, both). This would make it much easier to see whether some specific variation existis in some specific format, which is somewhat difficult within the current format. Off course I can do that for myself, but perhaps others would like this kind of re-organisation too??
Rom Hunter
IMO Sly's lists work just fine. It's quite easy to make a mistake if both PAL and NTSC variations are listed close together. Excellent work, Sly! BTW, these two carts are NTSC: As can be seen here (both the first cart scan): http://www.atarimania.com/detail_soft.php?...VERSION_ID=7288 http://www.atarimania.com/detail_soft.php?...VERSION_ID=7391 But the format of these two is still uncertain: Any idea? froggger2
The MotoRodeo appears to be the same as my PAL version that has a P on the back. I bought this MotoRodeo from someone in Europe. This Pal version rolls on my 1985 vintage television while the NTSC Hong Kong version of MotoRodeo I bought from Venezuela does not.
Rom Hunter
Thanks. Found the scan here: http://images.google.nl/imgres?imgurl=http...l%3Dnl%26sa%3DN It's Pitfall Harry's site. So NTSC? Christophero Sly
That would be a more logical way to organize the lists. However, I think there is a strong tradition for separating these sorts of lists and databases on the basis of TV format. Most collectors are accustomed to and, probably, prefer it that way. Although I believe everyone could get used to a mixed format, I don't think the gains in logic it offers would offset the potential confusion or break with tradition. BTW, these two carts are NTSC:I got that Ms. Pac-Man photo from someone in the U.K. (unfortunately, he doesn't post here anymore), so I wouldn't be surprised if that label turns out, in fact, to have a PAL counterpart. But the format of these two is still uncertain: Any idea? I got the Centipede photo from the same person in the U.K., so I'm leaning towards PAL on that one. Although my suspicion is that some form of an '86 Centipede exists in both PAL and NTSC. Thanks. Found the scan here: http://images.google.nl/imgres?imgurl=http...l%3Dnl%26sa%3DN It's Pitfall Harry's site. So NTSC? Nice detective work. Very interesting. I don't think I can accept this one as having an NTSC counterpart just yet, but that's an intriguing discovery. Maybe if folks would open some of these Venezuelan copies, we could get an answer. Still chugging away with the updates... Edited January 5, 2008 by Christophero Sly
Rom Hunter
Thanks, Sly. I put the Gray Centipede 1986 cart in our database now (together with a format note), because we didn't have a 1986 Centipede in our database at all: http://www.atarimania.com/detail_soft.php?...ERSION_ID=20477 Edited January 5, 2008 by Rom Hunter
Rom Hunter
Sly, I went through your Black Label list. These scans are still missing in our database: NTSC Berzerk 1985 - Correct Bowling 1986 - Error (Paddle) Brain Games 1986 - Black Tape Concentration 1986 - Black Tape Missile Command 1985 - Correct Street Racer 1986 - Correct PAL Adventure 1986 (does this one really exist?) Dodge 'Em 1986 - Black Tape Pele's Soccer 1987 - Error (Instructions) Pele's Soccer 1988 - Error (Instructions) Also, if you own any scans of better quality, please let me know. I would very much like to refresh the shitty ones. Any questions, corrections or additions are more than welcome. Christophero Sly
Sly, I went through your Black Label list. These scans are still missing in our database: I was just about to send you a PM about all these (and a few more ). NTSCBerzerk 1985 - Correct Bowling 1986 - Error (Paddle) Brain Games 1986 - Black Tape Concentration 1986 - Black Tape Missile Command 1985 - Correct Street Racer 1986 - Correct Bowling, Concentration, and Street Racer are found only on Atariguide. Here are Berzerk, Brain Games, and Missile Command (poor photo, so you may not want to use it). PALAdventure 1986 (does this one really exist?) Dodge 'Em 1986 - Black Tape Pele's Soccer 1987 - Error (Instructions) Pele's Soccer 1988 - Error (Instructions) Adventure exists. BSA Starfire was selling it in the marketplace some time back. I could only get the photo below. Black Tape Dodge 'Em appears in the PAL database. I have PAL 87 Pele's. I'll scan it ASAP. 88 Pele's may not be verified. It's probable that this entry on my list is in error. I'll PM you the rest of what is on my mind.

Christophero Sly
Really hope one of us here got this one. Street Racer At least that confirms its existence as NTSC.
Rom Hunter
Is that the 1986 version? Edited November 30, 2008 by Rom Hunter
Christophero Sly
Is that the 1986 version? I would guess so, and I'm just guessing that it's NTSC too, as it's in a US auction, but it still could be the already known PAL label. Unless someone comes forward to confirm it, it's not a certainty. Edited November 30, 2008 by Christophero Sly

Philflound
Sly, Rom Hunter, and Staberinde have helped me alot with variations over the past few years. I'm now working on finishing up the 3rd party items along with adding the manuals. Since I'm in the middle of M Network, that will be the first company I list the manuals. I actually have the majority of the manuals in stock or in my collection, so I just have to scan and upload. It's hard work. Phil
