Hopefully someone will pick up RG as apparently it was making money. Here are some details: Official Announcement forum talk Awesome magazine - stylish and cool. I really thought that time was right for a slick mag like Retro Gamer to hit newsstands. Guess that I was wrong.

Flojomojo
I got a letter from a new publisher who picked up the pieces and the rights to this mag. As a former subscriber, I will get 3 free issues as a gesture of goodwill! This is sweet - I couldn't remember when I renewed, but I feel that there were some undelivered issues remaining. I won't see those again, but this new deal makes up for that. I might just need to subscribe ... I'm away from the letter at the moment, but I believe it's from Future Publishing, the company that does the excellent if pompous Edge magazine. Mayhem
It's actually Imagine Publishing, who were formed about 6 months ago from ex-Paragon and Highbury staff. Indeed the new editor of RG was the guy who did the retro section of GamesTM. Nothing to do with Future at all.
