Shawn
OK I wasn't paying attention and bought the 5200 version which is good but is the 7800 version BETTER? Do I need both? 7800 version is twice as good as the 5200 version. The sharp graphics and POKEY sound really take it to the next level. kenfused
7800 version is twice as good as the 5200 version. The sharp graphics and POKEY sound really take it to the next level. Well actually the 5200 has pokey sound too since it is built into the console. The 7800 version does use the tia a little bit too so it does have a couple more sound channels for effects. The 7800 version is much more colorful and has no flicker when a lot of enemies are on or near the same row. Also, dropped enemies spawn from where they end up after they are dropped. One thing the 7800 version lacks is the burgertime like high score entry screen that the 5200 version has. In fact, it only supports high score initials entry if you have the 7800 high score cartridge.

Albert
I'm back from my trip and spent time today working on 7800 Beef Drop carts and manuals. I now have the first batch of carts ready to go, and they'll be shipping tomorrow! I have a second batch in my possession, and tomorrow I'll be emailing everyone who asked to be put on the waiting list. Here's a picture to whet your appetite: ..Al

Albert
so the number on the back of the cart is that how they are numbered now? mine says 23 Yes, that's how they are numbered. The first batch has a few holes, and there were actually 22 carts available in it (1-24, minus 11 and 22). ..Al
Albert
Oh, I just sent email to everyone who requested to be put on the waiting list. I have another batch of 30 carts ready to go out. If you want a copy of Beef Drop for the 7800 I suggest you write me quickly, as over half of these are already spoken for. ..Al

Almost Rice
so the number on the back of the cart is that how they are numbered now? mine says 23 and now i have 4 magnets wee, only about 500 more to go to fill up my metal cabinet j/k I just noticed the number on the back. This is my 1st Magnet and reason I got Beef Drop was because of the demo that Ken released and I was able to use on my CC2. I made feel it was totally worth supporting him. What is the significance of having 11 and 22 reserved?

kenfused
What is the significance of having 11 and 22 reserved? 11 didn't work, but I made a replacement in the next batch so someone will probably get it. 22 I think pokey doesnt work for some reason. If you hold PAUSE down when you turn the machine on (and keep it pressed until the AtariAge screen appears, then you can let go), you will also see the cart number.
