MegaManFan
Are these supposed to work? Everytime I try those channels it tells me to update to the latest system software, I go ahead, and then it says I don't need to upgrade bcause I already have the latest system software... but the channels still don't do shit. +remowilliams
No, they're not live yet. The message is a worded a bit confusingly.
figgler
It says on the channels that they can't be accessed until service begins
+-^CrossBow^-
Right...so the short answer is. Weather and News aren't working, because those services aren't live yet. I believe I read somewhere that the forcast channel is supposed to go Live sometime this month. I think the News channel either goes live this month as well..or sometime in January. figgler
Forecast Channel is up today, for anyone who isn't WiiConnected 24 and thus missed the message from Nintendo. I checked it out and seems kind of neat. The interface is good, it's fairly convenient and grabbing the globe, then giving it a big spin was fun. Of course I'm not a weather freak, I just take it as it comes, so I can't see me using this much, but it's cool enough for what it is. Lord Helmet
It's actually pretty cool too. I like the globe. First thing I did was check and see what the temp was down at the south pole...Brrrr
heavy-sixer
It's actually pretty cool too. I like the globe. First thing I did was check and see what the temp was down at the south pole...Brrrr I did that too! I thought it was pretty cool that my blue light was on when I got home from work. My wife thought I left the console on or somthing.
Mendon
I liked the Forcast Channel and will probably use it quite a bit. One thing I noticed... I'm **TERRIBLE** at navigating the globe. I'm constantly grabbing the globe, holding the A Button, and waving the Wii-mote in the wrong direction. For example, I'm near Detroit on the globe and want to look at Charlotte, SC.. so I grabe the map, hold A, and find myself hoving over Salt Lake City... grabe the globe again and next I'm in Brazil.....grrrrrrr..... Eventually I'll get used to it but right now my wife thinks its hysterical watching me trying to get to a city. Overall, Forcast Channel is nice and I for one will use it. +-^CrossBow^-
My biggest problem with grabbing the globe, is that I miss the glove and end up clicking on a city I didn't mean to click on. So i have to back out and try again... But yeah, so far for the past 2 days I have turned the Wii on and checked the temp before heading out and to see what the high is expected to be so I know if I should bring my coat or not. MegaManFan
There's a rumor going around right now that Madden Wii will adjust the weather in your football game based on the current available temperature and forecase in your area, using Wii's Forecast Channel. Could be pretty sweet, then again if you lived in Seattle every game would get rained out!
AtariYoungin
There's a rumor going around right now that Madden Wii will adjust the weather in your football game based on the current available temperature and forecase in your area, using Wii's Forecast Channel. Could be pretty sweet, then again if you lived in Seattle every game would get rained out! I rented Madden Wii and when you choose a stadium you can pick "System" for the game time and the weather. I'm not sure if this was available before forcast channel went live as I didn't have madden before then. But it does seem to load the actual weather, or at least a good aprox of what it should be (was too lazy to check what it is after the game was played)
figgler
So what do you guys think of the accuracy of the Forecast Channel in your area? I find here it is close, but usually a degree or 2 off what the TV says, but overall pretty close I think. No telling which is right though I guess.
