PressureCooker2600
it was advertised in all my old comics and game mags back in the late 80s. it was a full-size arcade cab that you could set your NES in to play games as if they were an arcade game. i even think you used an arcade style joystick and buttons to play. what was it called? what was the retail price? arcadebasement
Whilst I don't think it's what you're looking for, Nintendo did release a modified NES in an arcade cab - it's was called the PlayChoice 10. Maybe that will help with your search.
PressureCooker2600
i know it wasnt one of those Playchoice ones you'd find in an arcade....it had an opening towards where the coin slot would be, so you could insert NES games into the console
TheBman80
Yeah I remember it as well. I saw it in the toy store when I was little and I remember bugging my parents to get it for me the cabinet wasn’t a Playchoice but was built just for the NES itself. For the life of me I can’t remember what it was called either.

TheBman80
HAHA well if there is a way to get measurements the cabinet would be really easy to make. I’m sure there is tons of stuff on the net on how to hack NES controllers to hook them up to arcade buttons. I mean look at the back of the thing it’s a really simple design. There are a few more pictures of just how basic it really is shown on my site. I can take and provide whatever measurements would be needed if people want to clone the cabinet. Yes, I'd love to see the information on how to hack the NES controller in the event one of mine ever bites the dust. I have a 5 year old and twin 3 year olds. The cabinet gets a lot of (ab)use. Thanks, Jeff
Flack
There's a fellow over at DP (he may be here, too) who converted one of those to a MAME cabinet. http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=91654 EDIT: More information on that guy's cabinet here: http://www.neo-geo.com/forums/showthread.php?t=152236 Edited December 22, 2006 by Flack
