I hope this won't be the first and last game of mine to get into the AtariAge store. I'd like to make more games, including a semi-original adventure game, but with the DPC+ version of batari Basic only having 26 variables, it may never happen. Any type of game that I'd like to make requires more variables. For example, Seaweed Assault used at least 74 variables (thanks to Superchip RAM).
[With DPC+, you get 10 multicolored sprites and a higher resolution playfield, so we can finally make games that can almost look as good as games made with assembly language. With Superchip RAM, you only have two sprites and there are other limitations based on the
that you select. I've been hoping to use the DPC+ version of batari Basic, but it wasn't really ready to use until
. I'm very happy that the DPC+ version of batari Basic is ready, but the small number of variables is like a turd in the punchbowl. I feel like I have the flu, but instead of flu symptoms, I have a nagging mixture of disappointment, discouragement, and disorientation.]
