R - a novel

In today's blog update, I just completed the first chapter of a novel I'm beginning to write called R. I've always wanted to write a book that had a one-letter title. This novel is about a wooden letter R. That's all I will say at this point, although by reading the first chapter, you can already guess as what is going to happen...or can you? I have been collecting books with titles one letter long. I don't think I'll read any, except H, which seems to be the shortest so far, which according to the book's inner cover, is a novel about a boy and his stuffed letter h. Kind of like my story, but not quite. I only have seven of them, and the alphabet is not yet complete, at least as far as the list of book titles are. I want to help complete it, which is why I named the novel R. It will be kept in a binder. One day, I might finish the book and publish it myself, but until then, it goes in its little binder. But there's just one thing that is bugging me: How well am I at writing novels? If you could, please read the first chapter (it's only one page long) and tell me how I'm doing. http://www.atari2600land.com/r.pdf

I know I've tried to write a novel before. I tried to write one without using the letter E, but I only got to page 13. And I was writing a movie script and I got to page 70 so far. I would like R to have at least 47 chapters. That would be a nice long book to read in case you like long novels. I have never read a novel before, which is why I'm asking you on how well I am doing writing one. I usually read books about wordplay, or an Uncle John's Bathroom Reader, but not novels. They're too long for my attention span. Which is why I start things and then leave them uncompleted before I jump to the next thing, and then when I get bored with that, continue on something I started earlier but never finished. But I intend to work on this. Maybe in November, which is novel-writing month. Or so I've heard.
