It's too hard

So my Game Gear Everdrive came today. As it turns out, I can't use it yet. No, god forbid I don't need to open a Game Gear cart to use it. I tried putting the stupid Everdrive in the Game Gear slot but it will not fit. So now I have to wait about 10 MORE days, and order some stupid tool that they're all in China for some reason, just to open a Game Gear cart. Is this really necessary? Why bother making a Game Gear cartridge unopenable? What's the point? The worst thing that could happen is you'd break the cartridge. I'm just glad I have a few spare dupes, but I'm so angry and upset that they had to make them like they did. Why not just use a simple, ORDINARY screw? Like the ones on CONTROLLERS?

Go with the needle nose pliers. Or 2 screw drivers. Or melt a PIC pen cap on to the screw to make a mold of it. Don't cut it open with a very sharp knife.

Once the screw is removed and you put the Everdrive in you do not even need a screw. The carts are constructed to interlock without a screw. The screw is there for when people handle it in a way to twist of bend the cart. If you handle it like a like a normal person the screw is not even needed as the cart holds together.

Kiwi... your options are amusing to say the least :)

It took me hours to unscrew that security screw to open my Game Gear. I was trying to make a notch with a world's sharpest knife, didn't really work out well. I'm extremely stubborn person.

He should be open a cartridge with a screwdriver. Just push it at the notch of the security bit. Those game plastic bits are easier to open.

I have the screw bits for it now.
