Killer Snakes

I tried my hand at programming for the Channel F. I wanted to make an Ants type game, but trying to, I ended up programming something like Surround. There's only one snake now, though. And he can't die. I am wondering if it's even possible to do what I want. I want to have 2 different snakes, each with its own color. I tried e-mailing e5frog, but the e-mail address wasn't good. Looking at the box art, I am led to believe that the only choose-able colors are red, blue, green, black, and white. I would love to have the snakes' colors be red and blue on a green background, but I couldn't change the snake's color. He's green on a white background, even though I didn't mention a color and if I tried to, it remained green. And I have no way of testing this on a real Channel F. How was Pac-Man tested then, let alone made? And I got to thinking, how would I know if I reached the 2k limit? I doubt I'd be able to finish this, let alone work on it some more. My Channel F games I ordered were shipped today. So if they come, I would have a spare cart #1 I could change into a flash cart if I ever got the chance. It uses assembly, so I'm trying to learn it using samples. I'm not faring all that well, though. But anyway, I'll probably take another stab at programming this. Here's a screenshot of what I had made so far.
