Save The Puppies now 64k
Just to see if I could, I decided to try and make a 64k Game Boy bankswitched game. I know all my attempts have ended in disaster. But I wanted to know exactly WHY they did. A few hours later, after fixing many an error message it wanted to spit out at me, it compiled. With no errors. I wanted to know if it worked, so I clicked on it. The title screen was displaying. I pressed Start. The game showed up. I had done it. I had made a 64k Game Boy game.
What I did was I put all the data in the second bank. So instead of having to depend on how much room I have left in one bank, I can probably put a whole lot more different levels in the game now. I tried it on my GBC. It worked. I think my Game Boy Everdrive is a little faulty because it froze upon reaching a score of 6. But I tried again, and it worked some more and didn't freeze again. Noticed the volume was low even when I had it turned up to max. So I went back and fixed the volume (it's in the code, not the dial.)
The next thing I want to do is play it and some other games on my Super Game Boy. I looked through eBay on GB games, but they were either ones I had or didn't want. After sifting through 13 pages' worth of stuff.
