Atari 7800

So after about a month of waiting for my Atari 7800 a/c adaptor, it finally came today. I plugged it in to one of my 7800s and turned it on. Nothing. So I unplugged it and got the other 7800 I had laying around and plugged it in. Success! It turned on. I can now play 7800 games again. That is, if I use the 2600 controller. Right now I don't have a proper 7800 controller to use. So I went on eBay and bought one. That's why I asked what OEM meant. Although I don't know why bother since you can type three uppercase letters and still lie.

But I can't really play GoSub 7800. The noise seems to be crunchy and staticy. I don't know why. Bad TIA chip, perhaps? The sound on all my other games are fine, including Jinks, which I think uses samples, but they played okay. Froggie still went "ribbit" after the AtariAge logo. I don't know.

So I guess it really was the power cord and not the console itself. My GoSub experience led me to go to put in a no music selection for Pineapple, but I found out I already put it in. So I centered the pineapple picture and title word. I have a lot of room left. I doubt this will get published by AtariAge since Al ignores every PM I sent him, and if I sent him one now, he'd probably ignore it even more since he seems to be on a fancy European vacation now. I'd like to get out of the country. The place I want to visit most that's not in the US is Iceland. I like cold weather. Nothing says cold like Iceland. A land of ice. My kind of place.

But that requires getting on a plane. I'm almost 40 and have never gone in an airplane before. I'm scared of heights. Once when the mall had two floors, I'd be on the top one and look down and get scared that way. I wonder if they still have malls. If not, how does GameStop stay in business?
