So stupid PGE (Portland General Electric) has decided I live in a high-risk area for a wildfire starting, so they may shut off my power for 24-48 hours. I highly doubt any wildfire will start around here, and even if it did, I want my f***ing electricity. How many wildfires have started in a metro area ever? Any? So it looks like I may need to bust out my Game Boy and let the rest of the entire world run while I sit here in the dark for no good reason.

You know what I think? I think if they have the power to shut off my power, they should wait until an actual wildfire has happened in a particular area. Not just make it so people are sitting in the dark in fear when nothing has ever happened yet. I got like three TV notices about this. I guess they want people to be fearful about it. "Oh look! We're a mighty company that can shut off your power for good!" My f***ing dog just died, now I have to worry about this. Thanks, assholes.

EDIT: They were just trying to scare us. The local news kept informing me what I was seeing was the outage area. It turned out to be the entire service area.
